Using your tack-remover, remove all the trim retaining plugs.

Now remove the lock mechanism clip using a flat screwdriver or tack-remover |
The next step is to remove the lock-barrel. This is achieved by pressing the release mechanism using a small screwdriver, turning the door-key and withdrawing the barrel.

You are now ready to mark the rear door for drilling. Use the supplied template or the zinc-coated backing plate.
| Once marked, drill the holes using a small pilot drill bit followed by a 10mm drill bit or if you prefer, use a conical drill bit. Be sure to seal the holes with touchup paint.

| You are now ready to fit the zinc-coated backplate. This is done in 3 very simple steps as indicated in the illustration below: |
| Fit the self-adhesive gasket to the back of the stainless-steel plate and apply a small amount of silicone around each threaded stud.
| Fit the plate to the door, fit the Nyloc nuts to the threaded studs and tighten
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!
These are self Locking nuts and will not come loose
Over tightening may cause damage
The final step in the installation of Armaplate is to make sure that the keyhole
is perfectly aligned. Since the locking nuts were not over-tightened, there is
still a small amount of adjustment available by gently tapping the edge of the
plate |

Looking squarely at the keyhole, make sure the lock-mechanism is in the center of the hole in the Armaplate. If it is not perfectly aligned, use a soft-faced mallet to gently move the plate to the correct position |
Finally, close the door, insert the door key and make sure that the door locks
and unlocks easily |

Once you are happy that the plate is fitted correctly, replace the inner door panels, door pull and window winder. |
