Start by removing any protective ply-lining which may have been fitted. Once this has been removed, remove the trim-plugs using the tack-remover.

Now remove the lock-circlip as shown in the photograph. Please note that you will not be refitting this when you later reassemble the door. .

Using the supplied gasket as a template, mark the door for drilling. Note the orientation of the gasket in the photo! Drill a pilot hole first, as shown.

On the back of the door-skin is a secondary skin which needs to be removed. This skin is only held on with an adhesive coated foam strip and after the drilling has taken place, it will be easy to remove. Click on the image below to see how it is removed....
You will see in the photo that there are 3 steps involved. The third and final step shown above, is to bend the two "tabs" back so that they allow the backplate to sit flush against the door skin..

Now apply a small amount of touch-up paint to the drilled holes.

You can now fit the zinc-coated backing plate and reinsert the door lock mechanism as shown in the photograph.

Now fit the self-adhesive gasket to the back of the stainless-steel plate and then apply a small amount of silicone around the threaded stud areas.

Now fit the stainless-steel plate and secure using the supplied Nyloc Lock-Nuts. Do not overtighten the nuts!
