The Abus Integral Van Lock utilises the renowned Discus padlock, housed in a solid steel casing for ultimate protection against attack - and of course, it looks a lot better than a standard hasp, staple & padlock on your van door!
With well thought-out and convenient one-handed operation to lock & unlock the unit, this multi-purpose padlock-based door lock gives "All Round Protection" you can trust.
Complete with the integral padlock as standard, you can also buy the housing on its own if you wish to utilise an existing Abus discus padlock - it really is that simple to put together! There's nothing overly elaborate or high-tech about this, just a very intuitive and clever idea that performs well and creates an excellent solution to doubling up on van door security.
The Integral van lock is a strong steel construction and is suitable for Vans, Trucks, Garages, Sheds or any outward opening double doors.

Hi, guys. My name's Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a look at one of our out of the box product reviews that we have today.
Now what we're looking at here today is the Abus van lock or garage door lock, etc., that can be used for either securing a van or a side door of a van or the back doors of a van, or even your garage doors, and it's quite a formidable product. What they do is they've come up with a really clever and unique design. This is the actual design of it here.
Now the idea is that one of these pieces goes on one of the doors and the other piece then goes on the other door, and this is the one that would be on the primary leaf, and this is the one that would be bolted on the secondary leaf. It comes with some really, really long bolts. I'll get a measurement on those in a second for you, and of course they're designed to be blind so nobody can actually physically attack those as you can see there, which is great and important.
Now one of the ways that this particularly works is that if I undo that there, that then moves away and that stays on the actual secondary leaf and this then moves away on the primary leaf, as you open the door. And if you look in the back here, you can see here exactly how that works by using one of the renowned Abus discus locks there, and of course that throws the bolt over like that and allows the two to be secure together. So it's really, really great in regards to that. So when it comes to close like that, it closes like that, put the key in, turn it like that, take the key out. You've got a weather shield here as well that you can put over, stop any dirt. If it's on the back of a van or something, stopping any dirt and salt spray and all getting into the actual locking mechanism.
If the actual locking mechanism, after years and years of service, decides to pack up or get a bit grungy, etc., it's quite easy. You can undo it and fit in a new one. It's as simple as that. And of course if you wanted them all keyed alike or on a master key system, they can actually be implemented as well, so if you've got a fleet of vehicles, you can all have it with a master key that will override, or you can have it on all one key. So if you've got a side door or a back door, etc., we can actually have these padlocks all keyed alike, or master keyed to suit your particular application.
Now as well as that, it comes with these plates, as you can see here, and these are the actual fixing plates then that will be sitting on the back. So the idea is that if you were to actually fit this to something like that, you could put that in there like that, that's the actual bolt through, and, if I was to say, by the time that you've put a washer on there, and you've got a good fixing of the nylock that you would have there, that give you some sort of idea as to how thick the door needs to be, or can be, and I would suggest there you've got a good 60, 70mm worth of substrate that you can actually bolt on there. That's quite an extensive bolt. Of course, if it's thinner, you'd simply cut it off to suit the application.
It comes also with a little bit of a rubber buffer that you can put on the inside to stop it banging when one closes against the other. And of course, they're available on our website, LocksOnline.co.uk, so if you need a bit more information or you want a bit more advice, I'll just give you a quick idea of the measurement overall, just to give you some sort of idea. You're looking there at round about 225mm and the height of the actual product as well is about 85mm as you can see there.
If you need a bit more information or you want a bit more advice, by all means, pop online, you could use our live chat on our website, it's totally free.
