Hi guys, my name is Darrel, and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a look at one our review videos. Today we're going to be talking about a product that we put together to help our customers install access control solutions to their doors if they so wish.
What we have found over the years is that we sell power supplies, we sell the key pads, we sell the mag locks, we sell the electric locks, we sell the pressure release buttons, we sell the door intercom systems, to name but a few access control solutions. But sometimes we got a customer who's not necessarily an electrician or who may not necessarily know an electrician, or somebody who's handy with wiring etc. to install these particular types of systems.
What we find is that they're quite capable of challenging and attacking it themselves, but by the time they go down to a hardware store and get some cable and get some clips, and get some stuffing guns and whatever else that you need, we've decided to put this installer kit together. Therefore, so if you're looking at wanting to put a key pad on a door or you're wanting to put an access control solution in, and it's just a small little standard system, then by the time you put the power supply on the wall, you need a bit of cable to plug that into the plug top.
Then you need a bit of cable from the power supply to the key pad and then from the key pad up to the magnet, magnetic lock or to the electric lock, etc. And of course you need some clips to do all of that and more importantly you need a fuse and a plug top etc. to make sure that it'll all comply.
So what we've done here at LocksOnline is to go one stage further and offer all of that as an install kit and of course it can be altered. You know, you might turn around and say to yourself, listen, I need more cable than what this has to offer. But that's fine, no problem at all. We can cut up a bigger length if you need so.
So, what exactly do we have here in our installer's kit? We decided to put 50 or so clips there that are designed to fit on an alarm cable. We've decided to supply 20 metres of alarm cable here for you. And therefore that will get you from wherever your power supply is, in most cases, to your door, etc. with a bit to spare.
We've got some clips as well that are designed to do with two meters of flex. And this is the flex that we would use then to connect to your power supply, to your plug and so forth, to your socket. It comes with a stuffing gland. This is what we call a stuffing gland.
If you go in for a metal box etc. then there'll be little knock outs around them. This is the stuffing gland that you would use for this particular cable to come out and it looks quite nice and petite. And then you would clip that cross then to a power supply and you can put yourself a plug top on the end. More importantly to keep it all fused, right, you got a little 3 amp fuse as well that comes as part of the install kit.
Now, we've designed this, and there's always a law of averages, where there may be a bit too much cable or a bit less cable, but what we've found is that normally this does look after a multitude of different types of applications. But like I've said, this is the standard kit, but if you do need to have a little bit longer this a little bit longer that, by all means give us a shout. We can actually cut the lengths off the drums a little bit more or a little bit less depending on what you want to achieve.
So there you go guys, it's the installer's kit. It's available on our website. You'll see it dotted around all in our access control accessories; access control power supplies and all the key pads, etc. that if you're thinking of installing it, instead of trying to run around then trying to get all these bits and pieces together, finish the job off, this may be all that you need to have in which to do that.
But listen, if you need a bit more information, or you want a bit more advice, by all means, send us over an email, use the live chat that's on our website, or by all means, pick up the phone and give us a call. Either way, we'd love to hear from you and more importantly, we'd love to see you as a customer.
So for me, Darrel, and all of us here at the LocksOnline team, thanks for taking the time to tune in and we'll catch up with you real soon. Bye-bye now.
