These anti-thrust plates are designed to conceal the air-gap between the door and the frame where the latch of a door sits, to prevent anyone attempting to gain access by means of manipulating the latch in the door. This is particularly useful on outward opening doors where access control solutions are being used, which is often just a latch and electric strike release mechanism.
This particular anti-thrust plate is just over 360mm in length, and just shy of 45mm in width, with the fixing strip to attach along the edge of the door then allowing for a lip of about 18.5mm to cover any air-gap between the door and the frame.
As mentioned this also comes with bolt-through fixing holes for additional security, as well as the necessary bolts to do so, and some wood screws you'll need for fitting it to the door as always.
In case you are retrofitting an old or damaged unit, you may need to know the fixing centres of the screw holes. On the fixing lugs, the distance between each screw on each lug is 20mm (measured centre-to-centre), and then the overall fixing centres for the nearest screw from each lug is approximately 276mm. The distance then between the centre of each of the square holes on the front of the plate are 296mm.
