Hi guys, my name's Darrel, and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and we're going to have a look at some product reviews today and more importantly we are going to have a look at this narrow-style push to exit button that's available in our access control division in our website.
So here's the actual product here. Now, you've probably have seen these around if you're looking or want an access control solution together you might want to have the push to exit button. But in some cases, if you want something that is a little bit more discrete, that's a little bit more finite, then maybe this is what you need to be looking for.
Now it comes with a back box as you can see there. It's backing plate, so it allows you to set it in a flush application like that. But of course, you can if you wanted to actually mount it into an aluminium frame like on a commercially-graded door, etc. So that's what it's really designed for, but of course there is absolutely no reason why you can't mount it on a wall or anything like that.
The principle is quite straight forward. What you would do is you would bolt, you would screw that on to the wall, this would be unscrewed here and you'd have this cup then sitting on the wall like that, you would then slide your backing plate over it like that and then you would in effect just screw that back on to the front like that and that's a job done.
Now this particular press to release switch is available in . . . it can switch up to 2 amps in 12 volt DC and 24 volts as well, and it has a normally open and a normally closed position within inside as well. So, as you can see there, we've got three particular wires that are sticking out here as you can see, and one pair would be normally open and the other pair would be normally closed depending on what application you have.
The instructions come with it as well and it shows here as well, if I can have you zoom in on there and there you go. I don't know if you can just, maybe you can take a pause on the YouTube video there, that's the actual wiring instructions there for you guys. All right, so if you need a bit more info on how it's going to be wired that's what it is there.
So whilst I'm here what I'll do is get some quick measurements for you just to give yourself a bit of an idea as to if you're thinking that you need it fitted, you want to make sure whether or not it will fit on a architrave or on a door frame. Let's get some measurements to check it out for you. So its width here is 40 millimetres, its height there is 85 millimetres, and the depth in which it would actually sit back off the wall is 40 millimetres there.
All right, but of course, like I said before, you could flush fit it if you wanted to by just cutting out that section there and then you can machine screw into an aluminium frame if you wanted to. So there you go guys, it's the stainless steel, so it's good for external applications etc., it's designed to be in a rural environment, so that's what it's designed to do.
If you need a bit more information or you want a bit more help on this, by all means, pop us over an e-mail, use our live chat on our website or by all means pick up the phone and give us a call, either way we'd love to hear from you and more importantly we'd love to see you as a customer.
So from me, Darrel, and all of us here at the LocksOnline Team, take care and we'll catch up with you real soon. Bye-bye now.
