Hi guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now we're putting these short little videos together to be able to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products that we have to offer in hopefully a little bit more detail or in the flesh, so to speak.
So today, I am going to show you a key switch that we have on our website. It's very, very simple in its functionality in regards to being able to switch something on or switch something off, or a flip flop sort of situation. If you are electronically-minded, you probably understand what I've just said there.
This particular switch here as you can see here, it has markings on here saying on and off. It can be used for a load of myriad of different types of things. It could be an access control switch. For an example, you wanted to be able to have access control through the day in which case you switch it on and then maybe in the evening, you might want to deadlock the door and therefore then you might want to switch the access control off. In which case then you can turn the key to the off position. And there's a whole different loads of different applications for this particular type of set up. So that just gives you some sort of idea.
Now on the back end, which is the business end here, as you can see here it's a normally open, normally closed with a common rail. So therefore then, as you turn the key switch depending on what type of setting that you are looking at, you then change the state on regards to contacts. Now there are some specifications here that if I was to allow the camera to zoom in on that, it will actually show you the switching capacity of this particular switch there. Just in case, that is relevant to your particular type of application there. Hopefully, you can get in and see the detail on that.
So it comes as standard with two sets of keys. The keys can be withdrawn in either the off or the on position. So therefore you can take the keys away and allow the security of the product. Now it comes as standard with a flush fitting pattress box here, which you would normally, ideally, situate in a flush application and it comes with two fixing screws and you would effectively screw that on there like that with the two fixing screws.
We do have on our site also the surface fixing unit here. These plates or these brackets that you can see here. What you would effectively do to utilise this because this is not necessarily a UK sort of standard pattress application, is you would still use your flush fixing box like that. You would physically screw that to the wall there or to whatever you want to screw it on. You would then sit that over it like that, and then you would eventually, then put that into there like that, and then screw that on to there like that, and now you've made now this particular key switch a surface fixed key switch. And therefore then you then don't necessarily have to route it into the wall or hack it into the wall, so to speak.
That mounting plate there to make it a surface application, that's an option extra on our site. It comes as standard with these guys here and if you want to make it a surface application, consider getting yourself one of these and therefore then that's how easy it is to be able to fit it altogether.
So there you go, guys. That's just one of the products that we have on our website. Of course, there's a whole myriad of different types of key switches, loads of different types of applications. So by all means, if you are in need of some more information on this product or any of the products that we have, pop us over an email or use the live chat that we have or simply pick up the phone and give us a call. Either way we would love to hear from you and more importantly we would love to see you as one of our customers. So from me, Darrel, and all of us of the team, thanks for taking the time to tune in and hope to catch with you real soon. Take care now. Bye-bye.
