This model offers full deadlocking of the door to prevent entry without a key overnight etc, whilst always offering free escape at all times. Even if the lock is deadlocked via key and someone needed to get out in the event of a fire or emergency, using the inside handle would retract the deadbolt as well as the latch, which is critical in the event of an emergency. The specialist free-egress escape lock required is supplied with this as a kit, so there's no need to try and work out which lock you need. But of course in order to use a key to deadlock the door in the first instance, you will need a euro cylinder to operate the deadbolt part of the lock case.

If you're not already aware of the features that the Borg 5000 Series of
code locks offers, one of the most useful pieces of information to know is that these are a heavy-duty solution for simplistic combination code based access control, providing long term durability. With no need for power supplies or wiring, these are a fully mechanical code based entry solution. The
handles are also clutched to prevent damage if the handles were to be forced
or heavily compressed after an incorrect code entry, and even down to
the finishes on these models which are fully PVD coated, you can expect
hard-wearing, lasting aesthetics from these combination handles.
Also worth noting on these particular models (as with all of the
50xx models within this Borg 5000 range), are suitable for use in DDA
applications. Their modern yet DDA compliant return-to-door style with
soft-grip on the door-facing side of the lever allow these to be
considered suitable for part of a DDA compliant setup, so if you're in a
public setting or any other environment where anti-discrimination
standards or other disability-friendly requirements are in place, these
handles - and the lock case - will be suitable for use.
more, the buttons on these Borg combination locks are designed to be
easy to use. They are large, and offer a distinguishable push action,
which offers simplicity of use and confidence in whether or not each
button has been actioned correctly.
Passage Mode is also available as standard across the range, allowing you to set the lock into free mode
to allow visitors to gain entry without the use of a code, or indeed to
allow easier means of entry during delivery times etc for authorised
