Capable of storing up to 1150 users / whitelisted numbers, featuring two fully controllable outputs and three monitored inputs, the Ultimate GSM Switch provides huge scope for complex requirements and busy settings with a high volume of users.
When the unit receives a call from an authorised telephone number it will reject the call without answering (so there will be no charge) and operate the required output. There is also the option for users to call or text the unit with a password if their number is not in the whitelist, in order to trigger the desired output.
The outputs can also be set to latching mode, so that a call / text is required to both release and re-lock, rather than the default action of a timed trigger. They can also be temporarily or permanently switched on or off via text message or by dialling in and pressing the correct programming sequence on your phone's keypad.
When it comes to the 3 input terminals on this unit, these can be programmed to send customised text messages to up to three different designated mobile phone numbers. These can be used with door contacts or lock monitoring outputs to alert you if the door has not been closed after a certain duration, or indeed to alert you of any other scenario where you have a device offering an output that you can use to wire into the monitored inputs on this GSM device.
Further to this, you can also set up time periods for when messages should be sent - so if you only want to be notified of input triggers outside of office hours as an example, you can program the device to not send messages between 9am and 5pm or whatever your office hours happen to be. The flexibility with this device is truly remarkable!
The unit is housed in a sturdy aluminium case and features six numbered indicator LEDs which detail the status of the monitored inputs, the network status, device functionality and device power. Full information on these can be seen in the programming instructions.
Call / access logs can also be retrieved either via text message, or if you're an advanced user, this can even be configured to send via email using mobile data over 3G. This can be automated every 100 or 200 calls which is a good feature to have, as it ensures the SIM is kept active.
The power supply required for correct operation of the unit is 12-24v AC / DC. Power consumption is low with the manufacturer stating these will not exceed a maximum of 250mA, with normal operation running at as low as 55mA.
