Hi guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now we're putting these short little videos together to be able to give you our customers the opportunity to see the product that we have to offer in hopefully a little bit more detail. We're in the flesh so to speak and hopefully, I can extend a little bit of knowledge that I have to hopefully make the application of what we have with the installation of what we are offering here today, a little bit easier. So today, I want to show you a range of Videx Door Intercom Systems that are available on our website. We have the five way system here. But of course, it can be one way, two way, three, four, five and obviously, up as far as six way intercom systems. Of course, we can have higher ones but off these installation kits that we sell.
They start from the one way all the way up to the six way. So when they say, to talking about ways, what we're trying to say is that, that's the amount of flats or accommodations or units that this system would work. So if you're going to block a four floor flats, then you would have a four way system. So that's the way that we tone it up. So I want to talk to you about Videx. Videx, we've been selling now for over 15 years on our website. Now, Videx has a pedigree for quality and LocksOnline is based by the sea in Wales and locally the guys install Videx because it seems to be the only system that lasts from the Atlantic weather that we get down here in Wales in the United Kingdom. So you know, I quite like Videx as an installation product. It's quite robust in that respect. This is the new 8000 range. And as I have mentioned to the system here is a five way. So of course, we've got five call buttons here as you can see.
You've also got as well the indicators here which allows you to be able to put people's names inside and that's also lit up by LEDs and then up here then is where you have the speech and the actual intercom, forgive me, the speech is down there, sorry. And then the sound that comes out from somebody talking is up the top here. Now, as you can see here, it's been actually manufactured out of an anodized aluminium finish here and then a stainless steel finish then also on the base there as well. Because this is actually a kit, and because my background is more to do with installing what I like to do in these little videos is actually take it apart, so you can actually see how it all gets put together. So this is the actual call station itself. And as you can see, here again, you know Videx have managed to put a nice rubber seal all the way around here to ensure that water egress is going to be limited as much as it is possible.
You will also see here as well, as you got the wires, you got the intercom, the microphone going down to the bottom there that's into speech module here. You'll also have the adjusters these here to be able to adjust the volume of the speech in and the audio out. And these are the connections here that you would then go off to the phones themselves. These are the actual call buttons that are actually set in there, I'm just pressing that top on there as you can see there. That then will call that particular button, say that's flat one or accommodating one or whatever. Now, also here, you'll see that there's a bit of a printed circuit board here and that's the printed circuit board that's got the LEDs in. So therefore then it illuminates the panel, this particular part here at night times. You can actually see what the numbers or the names are on it.
So, that's the actual unit itself. The actual cabinet that would be situated with it. This is the surface fixing version here. And as you can see, we've got our standard knock outs. We've got a knockout down there. We've have also got a knockout here as well. So if you're thinking of conduiting to this particular unit, then you can do so. There is nothing stopping you drilling your own hole in the backyard and using a bit of acrylic strip in which to get the cables into the actual back of the unit. Now, when you come to fixing as well, you’ll see that we have got a fixing, two fixings there and two fixings there also. So you know, you can make good strong solid fixing and this particular back piece here is steel and it's obviously galvanized as you can see. So that's the actual unit, the box and it's a fairly weighty product. This is incredibly well robust and well made and for that obvious reasons.
So let me just pop that back in there just for a second or so. So that's the actual call station, that's the part that would actually be situated at the door. Then you have the transformer as part of the kit. This transformer here is what will power the whole system. So you might need to put this in a box or something similar by the main's power that's coming in or you can get yourself a bit of a box on a DIN rail that you can actually situate this particular transformer into. The AC goes in to the mains, goes in one and of course, then the DC comes out. I'll show you the wiring diagram just in a second or two. And I also want to show you then also the handset here. And again, I've actually taken off the cover so customers can actually see inside. I've also taken off the plug here, this particular plug here that goes to the handset itself. This actual plug will be situated underneath here like that. But if I have to take this off, it will give you an indication as to what's going on the inside here.
So what you'll also see is you see the switch on the side here and this switch allows you to be able to change the audio of the tone that when somebody presses your button, if you don't want it too loud, you want it really quiet, you have the ability here to be able to adjust it into three individual steps there. So that's really good in that respect. And also then the push to release for you to release the door would be that button there that would be pressing on that particular device there. And that would allow you then to be able to release the door. So that's what the printed circuit board looks inside. And what you'll see also is that all of these numbers here correspond with the numbers actually in the front door unit as well. So therefore actually wiring this is very, very straight forward and easy to do.
Of course, it comes with all the fixing kit and the screws etc., some additional ID tags to be able to put on the front, to give the people's names and so forth. And then what I wanted to also show you as well is the actual wiring diagram there. And as you can see here, you've got, if I can just quickly explain this. This is the front door station here. And this is the power supply and then these are the individual phones as you go up between one and all the way up to six. So that gives you an idea. By all means, pause the video if you want. If you need to have a look at the wire diagram there, by all means pause the video and then you can have the look at it's all wired there. Hopefully, we've managed to get into zoom there, so you can actually see it all. So there you go, so these are the actual systems, and they're available on our website. As I mentioned, I quite like Videx. I think Videx are incredibly strong, mature, solid intercom systems.
They just do what they say on the tin. It's as simple as that. No gimmicks, they just work and they work incredibly well. What I will do though before I pop off, is I'll just give you some quick little measurements of this particular unit. Of course, depending on the size of the system that you're deciding whether or not, it's a one way. If it's a one way, it will be half of this, and then as you get then past two way, then you need to have this extra base unit down here. But then very, very quick here, I'll give you some measurements on this just in case, you need to see, if it will fit on your particular set there. That's 140 wide. So it doesn't matter which system you have, it's going to be a 140 wide. This particular one here, the overall length of this is about 285 millimetres there. And then height then, I need to project out there. I'm looking at about 60 millimetres at its widest point.
So there you go guys, Videx, the 8000 series available on our website locksonline.co.uk.
