Offering proximity fob access control on your door for up to 999 users, this standalone single-door access system features a weatherproof and vandal resistant reader. As such if you require an access control solution for use in an area that perhaps has less desirable neighbours, this is well worth a look. To further add to your security, you can add an optional extra reader, enabling you to require the use of a proximity fob for exit as well as entrance through the door, as such creating a fully functional 'prox-in, prox-out' setup on an entrance / exit door.
The Vandal Resistant Fob Reader Head measures 93mm in diameter and 26mm in height, houses a bi-colour LED indicator as well as a small sounder and so offers audio and visual alert for the user of a successful (or failed) access attempt.
Weatherproof readers
For many, a concern relating to access control systems is how to design a system that is suitable for external use but also able to stand up to the weather. With this system, that is all taken care of thanks to the fantastic IP68 rating awarded to the reader head. This is the highest achievable ingress-protection rating,
confirming that the readers are 100% sealed against dust, and also
watertight against complete, continued submersion in water. Please not however that the controller unit is not suitable for external use, and should be housed internally - this also reduces the risks associated with tampering for the unit.
Inputs & Outputs
The control unit has two inputs available, giving you the option to connect devices such as a push-to-exit button, door contact input to sound an alarm in the event of the door not being returned to its locked state within a set timespan or a trigger from a fire alarm panel. Additionally the unit offers two relay outputs -
so you can use one to trigger your electric locking mechanism, and then optionally also trigger a sounder or any other device you wish
to trigger upon access.
Operating at 12-24 volts on either AC or DC, this system has a wide scope of installation possibilities, with suitability for use with a massive range of electronic locking and access control equipment - the majority of which fall into the realms of 12-24v AC/DC.
Variable door release times & door alarm timer
Being able to vary the amount of time the electronic lock mechanism or electric strike release is triggered for is a useful feature. With this system it can be varied between 1 second and 9 seconds - for the majority of users, 3-5 seconds would be the most common time period.
If you have a door contact wired into one of the controller inputs, the alarm timer will be triggered and raise an alarm if the door is held open too long, either by a person or by being wedged open. The
acceptable threshold of door-open-time can be varied between 30 seconds
and 4 minutes (in 30 second adjustments). In most cases 30 seconds
would be deemed most appropriate unless prolonged opening is to be
expected under normal use.
Adding and removing users could not be simpler.
The system is supplied with a master-card, ensuring that adding new users and removing old users is very easy. Begin by presenting the master card for five seconds, at which point the screen will show a 'dot' (.) indicating you that you have successfully entered programming mode. To enroll a new fob into the system, simply present the new user fob, the system will then beep to confirm that it has enrolled the new fob. After 30 seconds the unit will exit programming mode, and will display the ID of the last user added. You would then note this down for your records for future management.
To remove a user, check your records to find the ID of the user you wish to remove then simply present your master card to the control unit, hold the S1 button until it displays '001' on the screen, then repeatedly press the S1 button until the number reaches the ID of the user to be removed. At this point, press the S2 button, and the number on the screen will be removed and replaced with a blank '---' record. This is the confirmation that the user's fob has been removed from the access list.
Full details and instructions are supplied within the user manual in the box!
