The HID multiClass SE RPK40 Wall Switch Keypad and Proximity Reader solves the problem if you are looking for a proximity reader where you also want to have the function of entering a pin code into your access routine. the data protocol is standard Weigand between the proximity reader and the control system used.
AS a multiCLASS reader, it ensures the card reading functionality of the proximity reader will work with the new smart cards like Mifare and Desfire on the 13.56Mhz Frequency and it will also support the older 125Khz cards as well. The reader comes with a pigtail connection 530mm long for termination in a junction box on the safe side of the access control feature.
