If you have an aluminium or other metal framed door then please head over to the metal door version of the AL110 here: https://www.locksonline.co.uk/Alpro-AL110-ANSI-Strike-Release-Metal-Aluminium-Doors.html
One of the beauties with these Alpro strikes is that you can switch between 12v and 24v at your discretion quickly and easily when fitting. So if you're not 100% sure and you're not on-site to check, no matter, the voltage can be changed to 12V or 24V (DC) as and when you come to fit the strike. This is also especially handy if you plan on buying stock of strike releases for different jobs where you can't be sure who is using 12v and who is using 24v.
The cast aluminium body (with stainless steel ANSI faceplate) comes in a compact design with just a 35mm depth, yet its deep jaw can still take a full 13mm latch. And with capabilities of holding up to a staggering 1,750 kg of force (that's 3,860 lbs), you can rest assured that these will stand up nicely to brute attempts at forcing the door open.
While these strike releases come in Fail-Locked and Fail-Unlocked options as standard, you can also switch this functionality. A guide on how to change the alpro strike from fail locked to fail unlocked (or the other way around) can be seen on Page 2 of the Installation Instructions available on the link near the top of this page (under the product photos).
These have a very low current consumption of 100-200 mA (100mA @ 24vDC or 200mA @ 12vDC). Of course, the fail-unlocked versions draw this current permanently, whereas the fail-locked devices only draw power to unlock.
We also offer 25mm and 50mm extension lips for these strikes. These are primarily more important for metal frames where you're cutting away box-section and need to conceal it, but can also be useful for deep wooden frames where you don't want the latch to be hitting the frame before it reaches the strike release itsself.
