Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I am head tech team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of the product review videos. Now, I'm putting these short, little videos together to be able to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products that we have in a little bit more detail, in the flesh, so to speak.
Today I want to show you a rim strike release that we have on our website. It is A1R, it's an incredibly popular strike release. It's got multitude variations as well in regards to how it can work, etc. You have different voltages, you can have 12 volts AC and DC and also it'll work on 24 volts as well so that's quite a big range of different variations for this particular type of strike.
You also can get it in two different options. You can either get it failed locked or failed unlocked or fail secure or fail safe is another terminology in the industry. What that basically means is this particular one here is failed lock version in other words the actual strike is locked until at such time power is applied and then it will release and allow the door to open. Failed unlocked will means this will always be open and will require power then in which to keep it in the lock state. If it is a fire escape or something like that where if the power was to fail in the building or your access control solution was to fail and you needed to get free access through door, then you may consider the failed unlocked. That's the reason for different variations.
This would work on a rim type night latch that is available in the UK. It's quite popular one on the wooden door or similar, so if you got a Yale type latch night sitting on the back, the idea is that the latch would actually sit in into there.
Without further ado, let's get measurements for you. The actual overall plate here from end to the other there is just short of 110 millimetres but 109 millimetre across. The actual size of the fixing plate on the [flip] is 50 millimetres.
Quite an interesting measurements as well are these two fitting centres. These fitting centres here I am going to be saying around about 53-54 millimetres. The reason why I say that is that if you got strike on your door already and it maybe it's the release that's gone faulty but this plate might be slightly different, you may be able to just change the back and keep the existing faceplate so well worth you being aware of that.
The actual depth of this particular lock is well on the back there is 30 millimetres. The size of the jaw itself is about 43 millimetres across there. The depth of the jaw as well is 10 millimetres.
There you go, guys. This is just gives you the opportunity . . . This as you can see there is 24 volt DC version and if you want to zoom in there, you can see a bit more information there. As you can see at the bottom here, I don't know if you can actually see in there, but you can see the two fixings there where you would connect your wires to and then there is recess up there where to bring your wires away from the strike.
There you go. I am not sure whether there is nothing anymore that I can mention but at least to give you opportunity to see the products in the fresh, so to speak.
If you need more info on this or any of the products we have, pop us over an email, use the live chat, or simply do it the old-fashion way and pick the phone and give us a call. Either way, we would love to hear from you and more importantly, we'd love to see you as our customers. So for me Darrel, take care and we'll catch you the real same. Take care. Bye, bye.
