Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline. And thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now we put these short little videos together to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products in perhaps a little bit more detail, a little bit more flesh, so to speak.
So today I want to talk to you about an EFF strike release that we have here. It's the 76-54U strike release. It's a mortice strike release designed for either wooden doors or a aluminium type doors since it has different face plates available and so forth. This is the standard wooden door set that comes as standard on this particular version.
Now when it comes to security, when it comes to the quality of a strike release, these manufacturers, EFF certainly are setting up their height in the pecking order when it comes to quality, strength and security. This is actually a great one, security strike release. So if you're looking for something that's built for commercial environments, but is strong and so forth, this is the strike release that you need to be considering. Admittedly, they're not cheap, but they're certainly worth their quality and worth their weight in gold, so to speak.
Now they also have a UL certification as well. It actually complies to UL 1034 which is a burglary resistant strike release as well, and it has the ability to withhold 15,000 pounds of static strength, so absolutely phenomenal in regards to its security. So if this is something that you need to consider, then you need to be looking at a strike like this.
Also, this particular strike as well has the ability to also be multi-voltage and it can be 12, 24 volt, and it can also be AC or DC. If I actually pop that in there, it can give you the opportunity there so you can actually see then all the information. So even if you're thinking of replacing this, then you have the ability there to see what it might say on the side there. You can also then alter the setting there to allow it to make it fail safe or fail secure. I mean, fail safe would be using a fire environment where if the power was to fail, you want to be able to have free access. So it might be used on a fire door or similar.
On this end here, you'll see that this terminal is one to five. On this particular model, terminals one and two is your power, and three, four, five would be a monitored version. This is the unmonitored version, and also there's a switch there that also allows you then to switch it from 12 to 24 volts as well.
So whilst I've got this here, it comes with all of the fixing packs and plates, etc., that you would expect to see for an aluminium application. But what I'll do is I'll get some quick little measurements on this now for you. Also, I tell you what I will do as well. If you want to have a look on that as well, by all means, if you could zoom in down to that, Jack, because if you're actually looking at wanting to replace that, this is this type of information that you'll see on the side, okay? So by all means, pause the video and get the details to see if it represents what you're already looking for.
So what I'll do is I'll get some quick little measurements for you. The actual size of the faceplate there is about 36mm, so significantly wide. The actual overall length of the faceplate there is 201mm. The fixing centres, I would say is about 187mm. The fixing centres for the screws. The actual depth of the lock, if I measure the complete depth there, we're looking there just short of 40mm for the depth there.
What's quite interesting with this strike as well is the depth of the jaw. Significant depth there. Fifteen, nearly 16mm depth there, so obviously designed to take a chunky strike release for this particular application. The actual width of the jaw, or height of the jaw there is about 44mm, and the overall width in that respect there is 20mm. So full on, it has the aluminium profile that you would expect to see on the edge here for an aluminium door, but of course it does actually trim up a wooden door incredibly nicely as well.
So there you go guys, if you're looking for something that is incredibly secure, designed to do a job and is designed to do the job incredibly well, then the EFF strike release, this particular one here, the 76-54U might be the one that you need. But if you need a bit more information on this or any of the products that have, by all means, pop online. Use the live chat that we have, pop us over an email, or simply do it the old-fashioned way and give us a call. Either way, we'd love to hear from you and more importantly, we'd love to see you as a customer. So from me Darrel and all of us at the team, thanks for taking the time to tune in and we'll catch up with you real soon. Take care. Bye bye now.
