Sometimes you need to be able to display the status of a lock or a door contact above the door, or even remotely up in the office somewhere to check the current status of an electrical device. This LED status monitor we call the 'traffic light' allows you to monitor just about anything with a monitoring output!
These traffic-lights for access control have more features than
you may think.
This monitoring system LED light unit is ideal for
applications where you may need to see the status of a door, and or its lock.
Most magnetic locks these days have a monitoring circuit built in that changes
state, via the Hall effect to show if the magnet has energised against its
armature plate. This device will be able to give you a clear and visual
indication of if the magnetic is in the locked state or the unlocked state.
This unit can also be used as an indicator to the user or the person wanting
access if the door is open or in a locked state.
The unit requires a permanent 12 to 24 volts DC supply to
energise the unit. There is then three wires. The green wire is the common and
when touched agains the the yellow the red light comes on and when the green is
touched agains the blue the the green light comes on. So if you have a full monitoring output offering NO and NC then you're good to go - but if you only have a single output of NC for example, which is common on some maglocks, then with a simple interfacing relay you can create yourself a dual output.
There is also an option on the PCB on the back to flash the lights when activated if this function is required in the application that you plan to use this indicator.
The unit is supplied with a surface single gang socket back box with standard UK fixing centres for a flush back box if needed.
