Electric strike releases replace standard mechanical strike in door frames and provide the ability to remotely control and monitor a door. Asec are specialists in access control and the A3 Hold Open Electric Strike Release is another model of their robust electric strikes. The Asec A3 has been designed with a hold open function; this allows the latch to be held back, allowing free access for a time designated by you. This model has also been designed to be mortised into the door, much like a standard striking plate.
Holdback Feature: This is a small sliding snib on the side of the strike which in one position keeps the strike acting as normal, and in the other position, will allow for free passage through the door without needing to have access granted.
An ideal situation for this would perhaps be a commercial building which allows free entry during certain hours, but must have authorised-entry only during other hours.
The Asec A3 also comes with a fail locked configuration, a breakdown of this can be found below:
Fail Locked: These models require power in order to be able open the door. In the event of power failure this model will remain in the locked position, not compromising security.
