With its staggering 1,750 kg holding force, the Alpro AL110 is a popular choice for aluminium doors (or metal doors in general) and timber framed doors as it is designed to work on both by means of two different faceplates.  This is the metal door version which comes with the shorter 124mm faceplate as shown in the photo.

If you have a wooden / timber door then please head over to the wooden door version of the AL110 here: https://www.locksonline.co.uk/Alpro-AL110-12-24V-ANSI-Strike-Release-Timber-Doors.html

One of the fundamental benefits with these Alpro strikes is that you can switch between 12v and 24v at ease when fitting.  So there's no need to double-check whether an existing system uses 12v or 24v, and similarly you can use these on a new design for both voltages too.  This can also be especially handy if you plan on buying a small stock of strike releases for different jobs where you can't be sure who is using 12v and who is using 24v.

The Alpro AL110 comes with a stainless steel ANSI faceplate as standard (as mentioned, the shorter one is supplied for metal/aluminium doors), and the body itsself is a cast aluminium construct which is just 35mm in depth, so a very compact design, and yet the jaw will still take a full 13mm latch.

With its 1,750 kg holding force (that's 3,860 lbs), these will stand up strongly against brute force attacks on the door, which compliments its use in commercial applications even more so.

While these strike releases come in Fail-Locked and Fail-Unlocked options as standard, you can also switch this functionality yourself with a bit of hands-on work.  A guide on how to change the alpro strike from fail locked to fail unlocked (or the other way around) can be seen on Page 2 of the Installation Instructions available on the link near the top of this page (under the product photos).

Current consumption is low, which is always a benefit when fitting multiple strikes, requiring just 100-200 mA (100mA @ 24vDC or 200mA @ 12vDC) to power.  Of course, the fail-unlocked versions draw this current permanently, whereas the fail-locked devices only draw power to unlock.

We also offer 25mm and 50mm extension lips for these strikes.  These are very handy for metal frames where you're cutting away box-section and need to conceal it, but can also be useful for deep wooden frames where you don't want the latch to be hitting the frame before it reaches the strike release its self.

Further to this, there is also a lipless version of this strike release available should you be replacing one which specifically doesn't have the black lip, where a bespoke solution has been used / will be implemented.
