Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a look at one of our product review videos.

Now we've been doing these product review videos for quite some time, and to be honest with you, we've had great success because it allows us to be able to explain the product, and it allows you to understand it a lot better than perhaps a bit of description and an image may. The product we're going to have a look at today is the Trimec Electric Strike Release that's designed for aluminium doors predominantly. It's the ES110 series of electric strike releases manufactured by Trimec. This particular one is a 24-volt strike release. In other words, you require 24-volts on here for it to operate. The blue wires denote 24 volts, and if it's red wires that then becomes the 12-volt system.

One thing that Trimec have done over the years is that they used to be able to supply fail-safe and fail-locked versions, and this in its standard, guys, here is fail-locked as you can see there. You can, if you were to zoom in there for us a little bit, there's a little divot in here and you've got some pins, and if you undo that and swap the pins over you are then in a position to make this a fail-safe strike. So when power is released from it this would become fail-safe and the door would open. This set of profiles set up like this, with this ANSI follower that comes through here, is designed for aluminium doors, like shop front doors, or doors that you would probably see in a retail centre or a petrol station, etc.

Also, you can get lip extensions. If you notice here you've got two holes on either side, and you can actually fit in lip extensions depending on the thickness of the frame that this is going to be sitting in. Now, on the back, if you're thinking to yourself that you're trying to replace one, here on the back here is all the instructions. And as you can see here, I don't know if you can zoom in that close there, it will either tick then as to whether it is a 100 series, 110 series, or the 150 series, and what voltage is it; is it either 24 volts or 12 volts. So have a look at that if you're thinking that you need to replace one, then that's the sort of thing that you need to be looking at on the side of the actual strike release itself.

This particular release actually comes with, in the box as well, it comes with all the fitting instructions. It comes with some screws that can be either used then in a wooden application or in a steel application, and those ones for the aluminium shop front windows, they're self-tapping as well. You've also got a dial there for reverse voltage issues if you have those particular problems. It also comes, as well, with a fitting template that allows you then to be able to mark it up on the actual door, so then you can cut it up all nice and tidy, etc. So, if you're thinking of a milling template or you're going to cut one in from new, that gives you an opportunity to see exactly what you need to do in that respect.

So whilst I have this out, it might be great for us to be able to get a couple measurements just so if you're thinking that this is the strike release that you want, or you're thinking that you need to replace it, we get a couple measurements on this now. There are more measurements on our website, and of course if there's a measurement that we haven't done, that you need, by all means just pop us over an email or a live chat. So, just very, very quickly, the overall faceplate height there is 124mm. The width is 32mm. The fixing centres, which is quite important as well, is, I'm going to be measuring those at 105mm.

The actual size of the jaw there, if I can just measure that there, that's giving us 39mm in its height. Its width there, we've got 17mm, and the depth also is 15mm, the actual depth of jaw as well. So a significant lock can go in there and make sure that it works really, really well.

So there you go, guys. If you need a bit more information or you want a bit more advice on this particular lock or any of the ones we have on our website, just log on and use the live chat that we have on our website. It's totally free. Or, give us a call at 0845-230-02-01, or by all means pop us over an email. We would love to here from you and we would love to see you as a customer. So from me, Darrel, and all of us here at the team, take care and we'll catch up with you real soon. Bye-bye.
