Offering a full length keep suitable for optionally accepting the deadbolt from a sashlock when you wish to fully deadlock the door (for overnight security purposes), these strike releases boast IP65 weatherproofing and dust-proofing, making these strike release ideal for external and sterile environments.
Capable of offering an impressive 400kg of holding force on the jaw, these offer fantastic strength ideal for most doors and gates, and the build quality reflects this. The internals are protected by a rubber gasket seal to grant it the protection required for its weatherproof IP rating, and to compliment its weatherproofing, the faceplate on these is cut from 3mm thick solid stainless steel, which not only looks clean and professional but also stands up to weathering a lot better than many of the cast alloy faceplates on the market.
You will notice in the photos on the faceplate, a slotted circular nylon switch, which when rotated 90° to the horizontal position, will put the strike into free passage mode, so if there's a scenario where you want to have it so that you can simply push / pull the gate open without using your access device (card reader, fingerprint reader, keypad and so on), you can simply unlock the gate using your access device, then using a flat-blade screwdriver (or even a coin from your pocket), you can set the strike to be permanently unlocked until such time as you rotate the switch back to its vertical position to resume normal locked state, requiring activation from your access device to release the strike.
One important (and very useful) detail about this strike release is that the screw fixings onto the faceplate are a standardised 52mm, so if you wanted to utilise the weatherproof strike mechanism itself on a different keep, then as long as the existing keep has those 52mm centres you'd be able to achieve that, making this an incredibly diverse and universal solution to having a weatherproof electric strike release suitable for external use.
These strikes are also fitted with a built-in MOV (metal oxide varistor), designed to absorb spikes and surges which could harm your components. So this helps protect your keypads, card readers etc from surges which can damage their circuitry.
