Carrying on from the 1001 Mini Mag this is the twin to the 1001 save that the 1002 Electric Mini Mag has a monitored output available. So, pop back and have a read of the 1001 series mini mag as this mag has all that, that mag has to offer and more. (how many time did I write mag.. :-) .. 

On a serious note though. In some applications you may need to know if the door is actually locked or not. This magnet uses the 'Hall Effect' that Electro Magnetic Locks have to flip a relay. This relay which has standard voltage free terminals (NO - C - NC). This means you can use this relay to trigger any output you may have. examples could be to an electric buzzer or light. Perhaps to alert you the door has opened or now is locked again. 

Again, a very affordable quality Mini Mag Lock, that is great for passive applications, packing a very respectable 250Kg of holding force and with little current flow of less than an amp.

Another great plus the Electric Magnetic Lock has, is  dual voltage. It is just as home on 12 volt systems as well a 24 volt systems that is typically found in Fire Alarm Installations Which makes again, a great lock to be securing a door on routes of escape.

Hi guys, my name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now we're putting these short little videos together to be able to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products that we have to offer and hopefully a little bit more detail than you may get from a picture and a bit of a descriptive text. So today I want to show you a monitored magnet that we have on our website. It's the Asec monitored magnet; it's the slimline range of this particular range of magnet, and here we have it here on the bench, so to speak. So this is the actual magnet itself. Now I've taken the cover off of here because I want to actually show you guys inside all the wiring and so forth. So if you're thinking to yourself this is the product that you're looking for, it'll give you an idea to show you how it all gets terminated, etc.

Now in its standard gauze, this is the actual magnet itself. In its standard gauze, you've got this plate here that gets mounted then to the frame of what you're planning on fitting this onto. Then you've got a screw-fixing there and a screw-fixing there, and there it's screwed in via Allen keys from inside there and similarly inside there also. So once you've fitted the plate onto the frame, you would then screw the magnet up into the plate or into the fixing. There are other fixing options as well available on this particular product on our site that allows this and I've got a few descriptions here that we'll show you a little bit later on. Now because this particular magnet is monitored, it has underneath this protective rubber here an LED and depending on the state of that LED it will tell you what state the actual magnet is in. Also that if I was to open that up there also, you'll see in here...I know if I can get the camera in there, you can see all the terminals there. And you've got positive and negative, then you've got a set of dry contacts there that allows you then to be able to change state.

So you can connect it up to an access control system or anything similar like that and it will tell you whether the magnet has been energized. So, that's well worth noting there. Also, just in behind your wires here as well, is you have the little poll switches there, little dips, to be able to change it from 12 to 24 volts. That's well worth knowing as well, in case you need to do that. Now on the armature itself, it's one of the new modern types of armature settings that has one of these release springs here. Now one of the old types of magnets, when I used to be on the tools, didn't have these particular release springs. The idea would be is the residual magnetism inside the magnet when it unclosed was sometimes would keep the armature plate stuck against the element here. These actually now force it to bounce away so therefore then, ensuring that it will always release. So that's well worth noting. I'll get some measurements on that a little bit later.

It also comes as well with a standard kit that you would expect there for a wooden door sort of set-up. So that's the actual standard kit there. Now, what I'll do very, very quickly is I'll get some measurements of the overall product because this is quite a universal template, this particular type of magnet. The armature plate itself is 185 millimetres in its width, sorry in its length. Its actual width then is around about 37 millimetres, and its depth there is around about 12, maybe 11, 12 millimetres deep. The actual mag itself...I'm going to take the measurement of the plate as well with the view of not having to take it off. So the overall height of that is around about 47 millimetres, the overall length of length of this particular unit here is 250 millimetres, and its depth there is 25 millimetres. You'll also see as well that on the back here you have fixings here, here, you have a fixing across here as well, there's a cable entry there, and then you've got some fixings there.

Just in case you may all ready have a magnet and it's faulty or you need to replace it. So it does give you the opportunity to look at the template to see if it's going to fit in your application. Now, it comes with the instruction manual here, so what I'm going to do is I'm just going to pop that up there and allow you to show you this. As you can see they've always...pause the video if you want, if you want to read a little bit more detail. I'm sure Jack, our camera guy there, can zoom in and get all the detail there, and, like I said, by all means pause. There's another page to view this site as well but I’ll pop it over to allow you to see, also, all the different types of fixings and so forth we have available on the site as well or on this particular product here.

So if I pop that around now, it will then give you an idea of what it's like to actually fix this. As you can see, some of the fitting manuals there allow you to have what they call Z & L brackets, which is an option on our page there should you need that particular type of fixing. So, it's great to be able to have a look at that, just in case you do need to change the fixing element there. So that's the actual instructions that come with the product. It also comes as well with a fixing plate here, a template that allows you to be able to fix it onto the door; therefore, they're making it much easier as an installation. So when it comes to access control, this particular magnet here is able to have a holding force of about 600 pounds. It can work on either 12 or 24 volt, and, of course then, it's monitored as well for access control solutions.
