The compact mini-mag electro-magnetic door lock features a very compact design, ideal for awkward situations where the installation of a full sized maglock may not be feasible.
While only small in size, they still maintain a formidable holding force for their size; a whopping 680kg - that's
1,500lbs! So there's no question about it, the intuitive design works well,
and this down-sizing certainly has not affected the performance and capability
offered by these impressive little units.
This maglock kit is designed for outward-opening doors. As such, it is supplied complete with the necessary SDGi bracket required to fit them to the door and frame; and what's more the unit comes fully assembled; so all you need to do is fit your brackets in place and that's a job well done!
With regards to power and consumption; these incredible little devices can not only accept both 12v and 24v (DC), but the unique compact design comes up top-marks yet again with its economic power consumption levels. Consuming just 280mA @ 12v DC (140mA if using 24v); you can power these and most access devices all from a single 1amp power supply.
This minimal power consumption also means that should you have a power outage, your backup battery will last a good stretch of time, depending on the capacity of the battery you utilise. Of course, battery backup isn't necessary, but it is definitely strongly advised, as maglocks require power to stay energised, therefore should the power source be lost due to a blackout or electrical maintenance, the door would no longer be secured. So a backup battery in the power supply is simply a good idea.
For an idea on battery hours; the 1.2Ah battery would give you a maximum of a 1 hour supply of power if your devices were cumulatively consuming 1.2amps.
