Whilst the compact design and the various fitting approaches are a unique and important feature of these locks, it's far from the only feature worth boasting about with these locks...
Incorporated into the lock is an audible bleeper which sounds when the lock is triggered, and in addition there's a re-lock time adjustment, so you can set this anywhere from 2 to 5 seconds depending on your requirements.
As a fail-secure solution, in the event of power failure these will not unlock, they will stay locked until such time as power is re-applied, so for this reason we recommend our power supplies to be purchased with a backup battery option. In terms of power consumption these are really light on their current draw, only pulling around 165mA when triggered.
Accompanying the bolt you will note there is a magnetic reed sensor which allows the monitoring outputs to be used in which ever means you wish to, in order to display the status of the lock - if the pick-up does not detect the bond then the state of the output will indicate that the cabinet is not locked, and will change state when it is detected as being closed.
In addition to this, there is a small sprung pin on the locking plate, which pushes the lock away when unlocking, which is designed to prevent jamming. Bear in mind this is only a few millimetres to clear the neck of the locking bolt, and is not intended to be used as a solution for a handle-less setup.
You will note from the imagery and wiring detail in the PDF data sheet, the relay output for the monitoring is a simple set of NO/COM/NC contacts, and the lock can be run on 12~28v AC or DC.
