The EB-300VGL is a surface-mounted electric solenoid bolt lock designed for glass doors and glass frames. With no drilling of the glass involved what so ever, it simply clamps onto the glass of the door and frame, so there's no risk of damaging the glass if fitted correctly in accordance with the supplied instructions.
Suitable for toughened glass doors of 10 or 12mm thickness, the surface-mounts for the lock and keep are supplied with packing shims, allowing you to pack out the clamp a little extra to make up the space if fitting onto 10mm glass. If you're going for 12mm glass though then only one shim is used on the bolting side of the clamp to protect the glass.
One of the most common requirements we get for electronic locking solutions is to have lock status monitoring or even better if we can offer door status monitoring, as this reading allows you to know not just that the lock is locked, but that the actual door is locked. This is one advantage with this particular solenoid bolt lock, it does offer that door status monitoring by means of an electromagnetic sensor in the lock which is used for correct locking of the bolt into the keep.
As with the standard 300 model for non-glass-doors, this solenoid bolt also offeris the full 16mm of bolt throw.
This is above average on a solenoid bolt and achieves the same
projection of most 5 lever deadlocks out there. This gives a good
measure as a comparison, and certainly puts this model above others in
that respect. The bolt is also 16mm thick, which is a substantial size
too so should take care of most security concerns.
Running on 12v DC, these are a fail-safe solution. This means in the event of power failure occupants would not be locked inside due to the access control system going down without power. It does however mean that free entry would also be possible. So it is always advised with a fail-safe solution to go for a power supply with a battery backup facility to tie you over until the power is back online. We offer this in the list of options to buy with this solenoid bolt lock.
