Program codes into this keypad from anywhere in the world via SMS messaging or the handy Smartphone App! Perfect for holiday lets, AirBnB and more!
Spanning from the success of the AES GSM Intercom systems that have keypads fitted, AES have launched the keypad with the GSM module to be able to give you all the features that the keypad has in one tidy design omitting the Intercom. This allows the user to have a smaller form factor of the visual look of just a keypad but along with the functionally that AES Prime keypads have, with remote programming via SMS or the all new SmartPhone App!
We can see this as an ideal keypad where you would want to send time-restricted access codes to the keypad which can only be used during certain times of the day, or codes that are set to expire after a certain duration, as well as permanent codes which of course you can add and delete whenever you need to. This is a great option where the keypad is used in a guest lodging premesis, ideal for people such as 'AirBnB' hosts where a code can be configured to allow the user to gain access to a property for the time denoted.
Another fantastic feature of this keypad is that you can request it to
send you the last 20 actions via text, effectively giving you an audit
trail of what codes (last two digits) has been used on the keypad, ideal
if you need to know who has had access and at what time. It will also
include anyone who has phoned the keypad to gain access through its
whitelist access feature (more on this can be read further below).
Back in the day, these GSM systems could be somewhat tricky to program, having to understand the logical programming rules the system would understand, and mistakes are easy to make when texting, however, with the AES system this can all be done from the convenience of the new app on your mobile phone. The Unit will also allow the control of two outputs from the app at any time to trigger an electric lock or a gate, so you can even unlock the door as a one-off by pressing a button on the app if you need to.
The system is designed to use a SIM card from a mobile network provider and is set up as universal configuration which means any service providers SIM card can be used. The system comes with a SIM card provided by the manufacture to get you up and running straight away but equally will work with any modern SIM either on a contract or pay-as-you-go.
This system does not need to call or text anyone for its basic operation and therefore, would not cost you anything if you plan on using as PAYG sim (unless certain features are used such as notifications and reporting options). But sometimes be mindful some service providers will cancel a PAYG sim if it is not used (making calls or sending text). The system can be set up to give you notifications and alerts, and can also send you a list of the last 20 access triggers, so it may be worth using some of these features if only to keep the SIM active.
Don't forget the SIM module allows up to 100 users in a white list that is programmable from the app. In simple terms you can add people's mobile phone numbers to the white list. This means that those people whose numbers are whitelisted, can then phone the keypad (you'd need to give them the phone number allocated to the SIM card in the keypad) and this would trigger the relay to unlock the door (or whatever you're using the relay to control). A basic but effective additional feature of remote access control for users. One can store the keypads mobile number in their phone that when they call the keypad it will recognise your number if it is in the white list, hang the call and operate a relay on the keypad. As the keypad is looking for a caller ID that is valid it does not answer the call and therefore your network does not charge you for making the call.
The application for this stand alone keypad is perhaps only limited by ones imagination, being able to control and give codes out when needed from a simple app on the phone sets this unit apart from a standard non smart keypad. Whilst at the same time being able control a multitude of electric locks and gates.
