UPVC / Multipoint Electronic Locking
Need access control on your uPVC door? For years the concept of fitting keypads, proximity, biometric and intercom entry systems to work with upvc doors has seemed impossible - but that's history! We have come up with a range of electrically operated locks that can work on UPVC, composite and wooden multipoint locking systems - scroll down to see the current range.
With uPVC doors now covering a large portion of the market for doors on houses and even business premises, the demand for the ability to electronically control plastic doors is becoming increasingly stronger. And the influx of composite doors is only making these solutions more necessary than ever.
Previously the only real solution was to put an electric strike release on uPVC doors, however while this works as a passive means of access control, you don't get the security of the multipoint lock because an electric strike release will only operate on the centre latch, making this a less than ideal solution where security really matters; particularly on uPVC doors which can flex a lot more than wooden or even composite doors.
The real solution to electric access control for uPVC doors is here!
We have sourced multipoint locks that can be controlled electronically from some of the best manufacturers in the industry. We are able to supply all the kit you need to put access control on your uPVC and Composite doors.
Which electric multipoint lock is right for me?
This depends entirely on the functionality you require. Typically the Winkhaus AV2 electric locks are more suited to composite doors, whereas the GU Electric Multipoint lock has been designed to suit the majority of plastic / uPVC doors. The Yale Keyfree is different as it is a digital locking handle which doesn't require an electric multipoint.
If you're not sure though, and would like some help or advice, we are on hand and happy to help! We can even put together a wiring diagram for you or your fitter should you need one!
