Hi, guys. My name's Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a look at one of our product review videos.
Today, we've got this Burg multi-linked hasp and staple. It really is an ingenuity of design, and it's very, very flexible if you've got something that you need to padlock but a standard hasp and staple won't really fit the bill.
This is version three of the type of hasp and staple. It's got three centre links, as you can see here, one, two, three. What it does is allows you to be so flexible. Look how flexible that is. So if you wanted to around a corner or there was a little bit of an architrave in the frame or something like that, then this allows so much flexibility. Look at that. It's just absolutely amazing. Hats off to Burg in respect to that. Like I've said, this is the PL3, but they do a PL1, which has obviously just got one link. They've got one with two links, and of course then there's the larger of them all, which is over three links long.
Now listen, guys, these don't come with fixings. You've got to get your own fixings depending on what you're going to fix it into, so be warned in respect to that. That's the hasp. This is the actual staple here. As you can see, that would then fit into there like that. This one here is screwed in, and then of course then this particular part folds over it as you can see there. If I open that up there, you can actually zoom in and look at the whole part of the back end there, as you can see.
If I were to take some measurements here for you, the casting in this is a bit heavy duty, but if I were to take the overall length of that there, that is just a smidge under 225 there. Probably 225 is the overall length, as you can see there. Okay. What I will do is give you a measurement of these two links here as well. Or better still, actually, I'm thinking about if I were to install this, let's get the centres, the centre of that to the centre of that. I'm getting a centre there of about 155 millimetres, give or take a few millimetres. That's from centre to centre there. If you're thinking of putting this around something or whatever, then that will give you an idea. If you're with your tape measure, you can get your centres, and that will give you a rough idea.
The actual base plate of this, just to give you a measurement on this, that is 42 millimetres. So you're looking at 21mm to the centre of the actual staple itself.
There you go, guys, it's the Burg Wachter, the heavy-duty hasp. It's a multi-functional hasp. And like I said, it's got all this massive degree of flexibility. It has a fantastic ability for going around corners, etc., for locking something up.
It's available on our website, LocksOnline.co.uk.
