Hi guys! My name is Darrel. I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk and today we're looking at some products. More importantly, we're looking at the Union 4146 4 Lever Straight Cupboard Lock. That's quite a mouthful, but that's technically it's term. And this is the actual lock here.

Now, we've been selling these for quite a few years. The reason for the 4 lever is that it can be used where, I wouldn't say it's high security, but where you need a lot more security. Commonly you might find this particular type of lock, being a 4 lever, on drug cabinets or where you want that degree, a bit more privacy and so forth and little bit more security. Obviously a 4 lever is harder to pick or to manipulate than that of a 1 lever or a 2 lever.

It's available in two different sizes. There's the 64 millimetre, which is the one that I have here. It's also available in a 3 inch height one as well, which is 76 millimetres, and the backset measurement, which is the leading edge there to the centre of where that pin is there, on this one is 16.5 millimetres. Along the 3 inch one it's 22 millimetres, that distance from there to there, because that's obviously how far the key is going to come in or out.

Now, because it's made by Union, we don't need to even question the quality. The quality is there. The product is sound. It feels solid, it's construction. There's no noise, there's no loose parts and so forth inside. You look at the engineering here, using proper machine screws. There's no pop rivets or anything in this, guys. It's been built well.

It also comes, as well, with these little mini escutcheons. It comes standard with these. Certain manufacturers don't actually supply them, but this particular one does come with this little mini escutcheon, which is lovely, because if you drill a hole, you can belt in this escutcheon then after and this will allow you then to finish off the hole where the key would go into so it looks sweet. It looks refined.

Now, it comes also with brass screw fixings as well and it comes with three because there's actually three fittings on this one — one there, one there and one there. I don't know if you can see those there. While you're in there, for us, just zoom in there and just look at the quality of that lock there. It is really refined.

So depending on the handing of your door, if your door's opening from the left, opening to the right or from the right, opening to the left, you would then obviously operate the key by putting the key in here like that. You can turn this then. If it was this way, you would be able to lock it that way. Then if you turn it that way, of course then you can lock it that way. That's the idea. The bolt just goes backwards and forwards in the actual lock there and that's how it works.

We can have these also under special order keyed to like in groups. So if you needed to have a couple of dozen of these or even if it's just one or two, or you're designing a cabinet, you're making a beautiful cabinet for yourself, invest in a good quality lock as well to go on it, and you've got two cabinet doors under special order, we can get these keyed to like for you as well. Yeah, I'm quite impressed, as always with Union. You've got yourself a good, quality made product here.

I think I basically said all that I need to say. I'll just give you, because probably those measurements aren't on the site, but I'll give you the projection there of the bolt. The bolt would project out 8 millimetres. That's how far it will go out. The height there is 15, say 16 millimetres, and its width there is, again, 8 millimetres. So, just in case you needed to sit down, understand figure out what size hole or how that is actually going to fit on your door.

And of course it is going to stepped out by the thickness there off the actual backing plate and that step out there is 2 millimetres, guys. That's how much it's going to sit away from the back of the door, should you decide to screw it onto the back of the door.

There you go. Not much more I can say, other than, of course, they're available with us at LocksOnline and we've loved to see you as a customer. I hope I've given you a little bit more information to give you an informed decision as to whether or not this lock is suitable for your application. If you need a little more information or advice, pop us an email, use the phone and we've got live chat, so you can chat with either me or any of the guys here and the sales desk or tech team. If you need a bit of advice, come on board and we'd love to hear from you.

From me, Darrel, and all of us, take care and see you real soon. Take care. Bye-bye now.
