Digital / Combination Cam Locks
Sometimes having key-operated locks can be inconvenient, especially on cabinets, key boxes, lockers and so on where access may be shared between several people. In this scenario, having a code to gain entry can be much more convenient and is considered a much more suitable solution than having multiple keys in circulation which can be lost, stolen, and easily copied.
The great thing about combination camlocks is that they are still simple camlocks, just made with a combination chamber instead of a key barrel - so they are still just as universal and easy as standard camlocks. This doesn't mean they will work on everything (which would of course be a lovely idea), but cam-locks are one of the most universally fitted locking solutions and can be found used all over the place, whether it's on home furniture, kitchen cabinets, storage boxes, metal security cabinets, lockers at the gym - they are all around us, whether you notice them or not - although you might notice a bit more after reading this - sorry about that!
Most of the options you will see here operate with mechanical combination wheels as they do not require batteries or anything in which to operate - they are much like a combination padlock in this respect. But you'll also notice the digital camlock option too, which whilst having the disadvantage of requiring batteries, also offers its own unique advantages which you will find far outweigh the inconvenience of replacing batteries - and they are actually great on conserving battery too so it's unlikely you'd changing them often under normal use.
