The G & C Gun Cabinet Lock is a high security 7-Lever mechanism deadbolt lock, with a multi-directional keyway allowing you to position the lock vertically or horizontally, making this a very powerful and functional lock for gun cabinets. The deadbolt is locked or unlocked by key from one side only. This is a very popular product and has been fitted to gun cabinets worldwide.
7-Lever locking mechanisms are very highly secure, and are a must for gun-cabinet security.
Because this lock's keyway is multi-orientated (can be used horizontally or vertically), you can mount it at the top or bottom of the gun cabinet door, as well as on the left or right. This is what makes this lock so unique.
|Keyway||Vertical or horizontal|
|Backset||28mm Vert or 34mm Horz|

Hi guys, my name is Darrel. I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. Thanks for taking some time to tune into one of our product review videos. The product that I have here in front of me today is quite a popular product on our website. It's the C-G Gun Cabinet Lock. Here is the actual lock here. It is in all intents and purposes, what we call in the industry, a seven lever safe lock, because that is what it characteristically is in all essence. But of course a gun safe is technically a safe of one degree or other.
C-G have made this range that has been designed probably more for gun cabinets as opposed to safes. That is not necessarily to say that it can't be fitted in a safe. If the measurements are right, then by all means fit it in. One thing you will notice here that is quite distinct with this particular lock is that actual corners there, the fittings there are threaded, all four are threaded. It is not a question of bolting the lock in but you can actually use screws to screw it in. Just to let you know. The size of that thread as well, I have a screw here. This is an M5 screw, it goes in here. It is an M5 thread if you're thinking of getting some bolts or checking to see what size your bolts are in your gun cabinet or your safe.
What you will notice as well on these is that if you zoom right in there firstly, you will see that there is a number that is stamped on the back technically. That number is the key number. If you can get into your safe and this is the particular type of lock that is there we should be able to get spare keys to that key number. By all means give us a shout. If you don't need the lock you can be a customer of ours and we can cut the keys for you. Brilliant.
One thing that I also want to mention here as well is this T configuration here which allows the actual safe lock to be either mounted in the vertical position, as you can see it there. It can be mounted in the horizontal position or pointing up position, as you can see there. It can also be mounted in the downward position as well. Which means that the key is always going to be going in like that if you know what I mean, were the bit, this is what we call the bit, is actually down. It does allow for multiple permutations as to how you want to fit the lock on the door. That is how that works.
What I will do now is I will open that up and what we do is we will get some measurements so therefore then you can check your measurements to see whether or not we've got the same measurements and maybe this is the particular lock that you are after. One of the most important measurements is the centres of the fixing holes. That one across the top is 45mm. This one over here is 65mm centres there, well maybe 64, near 65mm. The overall case depth there is 60mm and the case height there is 80mm. Now the back set measurement and that is from the face plate to the centre where you put the key in, it depends on where this is situated in the door. That measurement there I am getting at 27mm. So from there to the centre there is 27mm. The bolt projection is 12mm. The bolt height is near 37mm, maybe 38mm. The bolt thickness there is a good old fashioned 10mm.
