The Cisa 12011 Electric Door Lock is unassuming from its front end. But with its solid brass face plate, somehow you know this is a seriously well-designed electric door lock that sits there doing its job day after day without complaining.
The lock is feature rich.
An example of some of the features is the ability to choose if you want the deadbolt to unlock at the same time as the latch. In most circumstances when this lock is used this feature will be removed so, the lock will only work on the latch. But then the customer has the ability to bypass the access control by simply deadlocking the door with a Euro Profile Cylinder.
The back set on this lock is 60 mm and can take bolt through door furniture escutcheons, or a range of security escutcheons as well if needed.
Check out the video on how the lock works.
You need 12 volts AC power to drive this lock. Most access systems work on 12 Volts DC, so you may need to consider an additional power supply to drive this lock.
This lock is not handed, you can simply push out the latch from behind the lock, rotate the latch and let it come back into the locks body to change the handing.
Ideal for access control solutions on wooden doors.
Be mindful if your door is thick 44 mm and above, you may have to sit the strike plate back of the leading edge of the door frame so the lock can sit in the middle of the door. So, a little joinery may be required to dress the door frame.
Cisa 12011 Series Electric Lock For Timber Doors Lock case only. Accepts euro profile cylinder - sold separately. Remote operating of latch and deadbolt. 60mm backset.
Operation
Mechanical
- The door closes the latch gets pushed in and the trip latch underneath the main latch.
- With the key, you can then turn to double lock the deadlock by rotating twice.
- To unlock turn the key in the opposite direction to locking twice if double locked.
- Keep turning the key and it will trip the main latch back, and the door can be pushed open.
- Pushing the door open resets the primary latch as the trip latch is allowed to move away from the keep.
Electrically
- When power is applied to the terminals and the door is in the locked position and the deadbolt is double locked the power will trip the latch and the deadlock at the same time to allow the lock to open.
- Pushing the door open resets the latch but not the deadbolt. This has to be locked again mechanically.
- The dead bolt can work independently from the latch. By removing the connection spigot (see video) the power will only then trigger the latch in the operation suggested above.
- If you deadlock the door with the key when the lock has been modified. You can bypass the access control / electrical operation of the latch.
