Hi guys! My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now we're putting these short little videos together to be able to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products that we have to offer in hopefully a little bit more detail so to speak.
So today I want to show you one of the dead locks that we have on our web site. This is Euro Profile. It's manufactured by the company Briton and this is the actual dead lock itself. Now it's quite a beast because what they've actually done is this particular style of lock is what we call in the industry a Din series lock case. And what they've effectively done is that, instead of putting more of a latching mechanism that you may expect in a sash lock here, what they've done is they've kind of blanked all that out but it's still using the same size body. So if you did have a sash lock, a Briton sash lock in, and you wanted to just fit a deadlock, then, guys, this will actually have the same template so that's well worth knowing in that respect.
Another few kind of distinct features as well with this particular lock, notice how narrow the face plate is as well. That's kind of a lot narrower and we'll get some measurements a little bit later, than the industry standard of around about 25 mm.
Also the back set is different as well and I'll get some measurements on that for you also. But you'll also see here some holes on either side. Those holes there allow for bolt through furniture if you have that particular type of furniture as well, the inscriptions to go with this particular type of lock. Also, the bolt is double-locking. I have a Euro Cylinder here. It doesn't come with a Euro Cylinder but just to be able to show you the actual locking solution, so if I pop that in there, it might be a bit of a fiddle because we haven't got a screw in there but there you go. So that throws once there and as I turn it again, a complete turn, it then throws again total length projection there of about 20 mm. So that's well worth knowing in that respect. And then of course, unlock it once and unlock it twice and then I'll pop the cylinder out. So that's the operation of this particular lock.
Now also the manufacturers claim this to be 316 grade stainless which is a marine grade stainless which is quite interesting to know. And of course the face plate then, we've just got a standard keep here in regards to the face plate, sorry, the stripe keep and that again, if I just peel that off there slightly, that's a brushed stainless steel finish. I don't know if you can get a zoom in on that but that's the actual finish there of the keep.
Now it comes with its fixing screws as you can see here so there's no problem being able to screw this all in together. You'll also notice as well that in the fixing packet, I don't know if you can see it through the shine, they've actually got some metal screws as well, so this is quite popular to be fitted into metal doors as well. So if you have a metal door and it has this style of lock, guys, this might be the one that you're looking for.
So very, very quickly, let's get some fixing measurements and some sizes and all for you so therefore then you can make a bit better of an interpretation if this is the lock that you want and that all-important width there is 20 mm there. That's the actual width of the actual face plate. The actual overall length of the face from one end to the other, I'll quickly get that for you there now...about there is 235 mm. The fixing centres, if you're thinking that you need to replace this, I'm putting that in at right about the 209 mm, give or take a mil on either side. The all-important back set there is 60 mm. That's from the face to the centre of where the key would go in, and the case depth there is about 94, 93-94 mm. The case height is 164 mm. And then finally then, the case width then is we're pushing here around about 15-16 mm case width.
So there you go guys, just one of the products that we have on our web site. But listen, if you need a bit more information of this or any of the products that we have, pop us over an email, use the live chat that we have or simply pick up the phone and give us a call. Either way, we'd love to hear from you and more importantly we'd love to see you as one of our customers. So from me, Darrel, and all of us at the team, thanks for taking the time to tune in. I hope to catch up with you real soon. Take care now. Bye bye.
