Putting a master-key system in your property should not be difficult. This is why we've put together this exclusive kit of the most popular set of requirements for standard 44mm thick office doors when specifying a master-key system.
If you're looking for a master key system for an office, or wish to have a solution for your B&B or HMO which lets every room have a unique key, with master-keys which can open all those doors, the typical solution is a master-keyed cylinder suite, with lock cases and handles to suit the requirements of public use whilst offering the convenience of master-keys able to unlock every door.
The kit we've put together is designed for standard 44mm thick doors, and comes complete with Grade 304 stainless steel return-to-door handles (with matching escutcheons) which are compliant with DDA requirements, as well as a fire-rated DIN style euro lock case to compliment this setup. Then of course your master-keyed cylinder which has its own unique keys to lock and unlock from the outside, and a thumbturn to lock and unlock from the inside is also included with this, built to also accept the master-keys you purchase to complete your masterkey suite.
Please note, a minimum of 1 master key must be ordered per system. You can order as many master keys as you wish, but at least one master key must be included as part of your order. The cylinders are master-pinned to order so please allow extra time for your order to be completed.
We can also supply fire-rated Grade 13 Stainless Steel ball bearing hinges if you require them. This is not part of the kit as it is not normally required, but in some cases - particularly new installations - you may need these. Three hinges are required per door, and we supply them as such. So add one hinge pack per door if you require them.
The full master-keyed lock kit in detail
The lock provided is a DIN style euro sash-lock case, with 72mm centres and a 55mm backset, which meets the relevant distance requirements of DDA. It has a satin stainless steel forend faceplate, allowing for a clean and simple finish to the edge of the door. The lock is also fire rated and is supplied with a strike plate / keep for the frame.
The Handle Sets
Supplied as part of the kit are Grade 304 Stainless-Steel handles designed with a return-to-door style suitable for use in DDA applications, and are also fire-rated to FD30 30 minute and FD60 60 minute fire doors. Matching escutcheons are also provided to sit around the euro cylinder. These are 'floating' style handles, with just a clean, simple circular plate at the base as opposed to a full backplate. This allows for a professional and clean finish to the installation, with all the fixing screws being concealed beneath the cover plate.
The cylinders supplied are 70mm (35-35T) euro key & turn cylinders, allowing for key operation on the outside, with thumbturn operation on the inside for easy locking and unlocking - perfect for ensuring safe and easy exit from locked rooms in the event of emergency (also known as "Keyless Egress"). Each cylinder is supplied with three keys in total. These are what we call the 'differ keys', as you will have a unique set of three keys per cylinder. No master-keys are supplied as standard, as this is something you need to decide on with regards to quantity. It may be that you want every member of staff to have a master key, or perhaps just yourself. In either case, simply add to the cart however many master keys you require for the whole system when adding to the cart.
