For Landlords and Hotel / B&B owners, having an effective master-key system in place is essential for productivity, ease of access, and ultimately peace of mind.
In the case of landlords and owners of HMO's, being able to unlock doors within your properties without having to find and carry each individual key gives you the freedom to always have access, without having to carry bunches of keys, or worse, arriving to find you've brought the wrong key!
For Hotel or B&B owners, having the ability to distribute master-keys to staff such as cleaners or maids to carry out routine cleaning or provide room-service, means that your staff can be more efficient, and get the job done every time without any access problems.
Our Yale-Lock masterkey system comprises of a rim nightlatch - which incidentally is in fact a Yale branded lock, true to the common term of a 'Yale lock', with the suitable rim cylinder, complete with three unique keys for that cylinder only (of course, master-pinned to accept your master key too), and a cylinder pull for the outside, which surrounds the cylinder for a clean finish, whilst also providing finger-pull functionality to pull the door closed behind you on your way out.
Please note, a minimum of 1 master key must be ordered per system. You can order as many master keys as you wish, but at least one master key must be included as part of your order. The cylinders are master-pinned to order so please allow extra time for your order to be completed.
The full master-keyed Yale Lock kit in detail
The Yale Locks
The lock provided is a Yale nightlatch - also known as a 'Yale lock' - with a standard 60mm backset, which is the most popular size of rim nightlatch and is widely considered the 'industry standard' for these locks. It comes with its relevant keep for the door frame, and has a holdback snib to keep the door 'off the latch' so to speak. We've chosen this Yale model specifically due to its suitability as part of a master-key system; it does not allow the occupant to deadlock to latch using the snib, which means entry with your masterkey can always be achieved.
Supplied as part of the kit, these cylinders offer standard key-operation, and are supplied with a set of three standard keys per lock. They are not supplied with master keys, these are supplied as per the quantity you specify when purchasing. Each cylinder will have unique keys, whilst all of the masterkeys ordered will of course unlock them all.
The Cylinder Pull
As a finishing touch, the kit also comes with cylinder pulls - these provide a nice clean finish around the cylinder, covering up any rough edges around the hole in the door, whilst also providing a means for the door to be pulled closed via the 'lip' at the bottom acting as a finger-pull.
