Hi, guys. My name is Darrel. And I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now we're putting these short little videos together to be able to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products in the flesh, so to speak.
So today I want to show you a key switch that we have in our web. This is the actual key switch here. It's designed to except a Euro profile cylinder in here. So if you've got a master key system. Or if you've already got a cylinder or a keyed alike group of cylinders, etc., then of course, then you can choose what cylinder you designed to put in here. Bear in mind, it doesn't come with a cylinder. You have to choose a cylinder. And there's an option on our website if you need a cylinder for this.
So on the back here, as you can see, it's got a switch there. It's what we call in the trade a momentary switch. So when you put the key in and turn it, when you push that in and it stays in, these here will change states. So you've got a common in the centre. You've got a normally open and a normally closed on either end. So when you press that in, the common then becomes normally open if it was normally closed. And those two become normally closed if it was normally opened. So it reverses it.
When you bring the key back, it'll stay then back into the original set of whatever it is, pull the key out. So it'll give you a trigger, so to speak. It may be a pulse to operate an electric door. Or a pulse to operate an electric lock that already has its power or a timer relay or a timer switch.
Now it's got a stainless steel fixing plate, as you see there. It comes with a flush back box there, that you would fit into your recess into a wall or something. And it comes with some fixing screws as well, as you can see there.
It's a standard single pattress size. And the size of the cylinder as well, which is a quite important one to know. The size of the cylinder you'll be looking at wanting to get is a 35 millimetre to the centre. So there's the hole there that you'd screw in to hold the actual cylinder into place there. And it's a 35 millimetre from there, then to the outside. And it just projects just a little bit.
So there you go, guys. It's just great to be able to see the products in the flesh. And if this is what you're looking for, bearing in mind, I'll reiterate, it's a momentary switch. So as you apply pressure to the switch. Then the contacts change state. Remove the pressure away from the switch and the contacts go back to the original state. Normally open, normally closed on a common rail.
If you need a bit more info or you want a bit more advice on this or any of the products we have, by all means, pop us over an email, use the live chat or simply do it the old-fashion way and give us a call. Either way, we'd love to hear from you. And more importantly, we'd love to see you as a customer. So from me Darrel, and all of us at the team, thanks for taking the time to tune in. Catch you really soon. Take care. Bye, bye.
