Taylors Spindles are designed for doors without a latch, or where you do not wish for the handle to be able to operate the latch, such as on access control systems using electric strike door releases etc. These ones have been made as a 'universal' application taylors spindle, as the dimensions should suit most backplates, either 45mm wide or 22mm wide depending on the orientation of the taylors spindle.
Plate Size: 45mm x 22mm
While these are designed to suit most handles, you may need to alter the width of the plate on these to suit your handles if yours are particularly narrow!

Hi guys, my name is Darrel, and I'm the head of the tech team here at Locks Online. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now I have put a short review video together to be able to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products that we have to offer, hopefully give you a little bit more detail in the flesh, so to speak. So today I want to show you my Fixed Spindle Adapter, or a Taylor Spindle is another popular name in the architectural eye mongering criteria. And this is the actual product here. Now this particular fixed spindle is designed to work with a UPVC type handle as a spectrum and the idea is that if you wanted to have a setup handle that you quite liked on your hands, but you want to be able to stop the outside handle from moving it towards. Therefore then you might want to operate it on a key or something similar. Then this is the product that you could have, which will allow you then--this is a typical handle here, then if I sit back in there like that, I would sit in there nice and flash pop that in there like that and that then will now stop that handle from moving, as you can see there.
Now, it has its applications. We got a range of different types of access control solutions on our website where you may want to look at fixing the handle on the outside. So what it becomes in effect--it's just a pull handle, and that's what that Taylor Spindle allows you to do. So you would just be able to pull the handle in, and you may have a key or an access control solution, so all this just becomes a way of being able to control the door and not necessarily the lock itself. So it has its distinct advantages in respect to those particular applications and, of course, it can be used for a whole myriad of different types of things as well. But what I'll do very, very quickly while I have that right here is let's get some measurements on it, because certain size handles when I just fix it on this hoppy nice and easily in here, or you may find that certain types of manufacturers may find that you may have to take a filing off either side. You might have to put a file on it and slightly adjust it for other makes of handles. So the actual width of this here is about 23 millimeters there of the overall width there, and the actual length overall is 44 millimeters and the projection of the actual spindle itself there is just a smidgen under the 20 millimeters there, as you can see.
So it has its distinct advantages and used on certain types of access control situations. Quite a proper product on our website to be able to modify an existing locking solution, a multi-point knocking solution, so therefore, then you might want to implement some sort of access control solution.
