This self-adhesive pad emulates a typical push-plate / finger-plate for doors, but offering antimicrobial properties which fight against microorganisms.
The ANTIBACPAD is 99.9% effective against: Klebsiella pneumoniae, E.coli, Staphylococcus (ISO 22196:2011 test) and with regards to Coronaviruses, testing has been done on a surrogate organism for SARS-CoV2, using a feline strain of Coronavirus (ISO 21702:2019 test).
The testing of the feline strain is currently the recognised process for commercial testing available and has been validated for use in EN standard methods already. The feline coronavirus strain is used in laboratories as a close but safer alternative to human pathogenic strains of Coronavirus for fairly obvious reasons.
The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has categorised the virus at biohazard level 3+ and therefore it is not currently available for public commercial testing at this point in the pandemic. this is the ISO 21702:2019 test and has over 66% reduction. In other words, 166x more effective than without the antimicrobial technology.
The pad itself measures 80 x 190mm and is made from polypropylene. The surface coating contains silver ions for their long-term antimicrobial properties, and offers a high strength 3M adhesive backing for easy installation without the need for tools.
Whilst maintained in good condition, the antimicrobial properties of these pads should last for two years; but if the surface becomes damaged or clogged with dirt, or the surface is heavily worn for any other reason we would recommend earlier renewal.
