Hi guys. Many thanks for tuning in. My name's Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline and today we're looking at a Tokyo Hoppe uPVC multipoint handle.
So without further ado, let's get it open and let's have a look. This is the handle. Now, this is the handle that you would normally have on the outside, but I have seen people use it on the inside. But this is the outside part.
One of the reasons why you would see this as being the outside is that the fixings are from the inside that bolt the handles together. This is a pad style. Some people prefer this particular type of style. It's non-handed so when you go to fit it on your door, it doesn't matter which handing you decide to use. It can be that or that, depending on which way the door opens.
Some of the things that you may want to be aware of is that if you're thinking of replacing these particular type of handles and you're not 100% sure whether or not the handle that you have is this handle, it may be well worth you looking on the inside of the handle. And if you looked on the inside of this one, if you notice in there, I don't know if you can zoom in there that close, okay? You will see a number saying 3370N so that'll would give you a little bit more of a plus as to whether or not this is an exact replacement. That's the model number from the manufacturers Hoppe.
On the outside as well, you'll see there, there's a Hoppe logo there. It's pretty small there, so I don't know if you can actually see that if you zoom in. But there you go. Yeah, you got it? Yeah. Cool. Okay, so that's the type of logo that you'll be looking at.
Now they are available in gold finish and this is the gold finish. It's very nice and a satiny type of gold finish. It's available in white and also in a chrome finish. The inside handle, and this is the handle that goes on the inside, again is handed. It doesn't matter. This is unsprung furniture now guys, so you're having to rely on the lock's springs to keep the handle in the horizontal position. That's important for you to know.
Now one thing that the manufacturer doesn't tell you is how thick that these particular handles can fit on a door. We've taken the biggest screws that they come with and you can get a door that's over – well, about 70 millimetres thick, is about as thick as they will go with the screws and the spindles that are supplied with it.
They come with two different sized followers. I don't know why but they have decided to send us two different sized followers. There's actually not that much in it but they come as standard with two different sized followers. They also come then, as well, with two different sized screws as well. These screws are quite substantial in comparison to some that I've seen over the years. This is quite thick and is quite substantial. Where security now is quite important and the quality of these screws as well. So that's well worth knowing.
So there you go guys. There's not really much that I can say about these. All the measurements for these are on our website. Just to give you some sort of idea though the PZ measurement, that's the distance from the centre here to the centre of the key now, where you'd actually fit your key into. Not the centre of the cylinder, is 92 millimetres. Okay? The plate height that's from there to there is 220 millimetres, and it's width here is 30 millimetres.
So there you go. That's the Tokyo range pad-type handle used for multipoint locks available at LocksOnline.co.uk and we'd really appreciate it if you'd add to our cart. We'd love to see you as a customer.
