Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a look at one of our product review videos. Today we're looking at Hoppe handles and we're looking at a set of Hoppe handles that's designed for UPVC doors, etc. And what's so special about these particular handles is that they do have 70-mm centres, PZ centres. And I'll explain a little bit of what I mean by these centres a little bit later on.

They come in three different finishes. They come in a standard white finish, they come in a silver finish, which ones we have here, and they come in a gold finish as well. Now they used to be used on the older type Fercos. Seventy millimetre centres these days are probably not as popular as they were, but there's of course, there's still many of tens of thousands of locks out there that are 70-mm centres.

So they're still a very, very popular product on our site, and I think it's worth us putting a video together to give you, our customers, an opportunity to see the product in a bit more detail. So here's the actual handle itself, and as handles go it's not really much that you can say about them. They're un-sprung handles and of course they're designed to be able to lift the handle up there if you have that type of mechanism, you can lift the handle up and allow you to lock the door, which is pretty traditional in the UK when it comes to multipoint locks.

Now the 70-mm centres that I was talking to you about is actually what we call in the industry the PZ centres, and that's the distance from the centre of the handle there to the centre of the keyway, not the centre of the cylinder, mind you. It's the centre of where you actually put your key in. And that there is 70mm on the nose, okay? So that's what you're measuring there. It might be well worth you bearing in mind as well, is that I don't know if you can zoom in, I don't know if the camera can get in that close, but you'll see that there's actually a number stamped into the thing. I don't know if I move it slightly you might get it in a different light there perhaps.

But anyway, that particular number there, the 200LF, you may find that on your handles if you've already got Hoppe handles. And the way to establish if yours are Hoppe is, I know again, could you zoom in there firstly and have a look at that little logo that sits at the top there. Again, I'll move it backwards and forwards in case it gets in the light.

If you've got that little signature on your handle, then you know then that you've got Hoppe handles. If yours are 70mm centres the chances are, this is the handle that you've got on your door. Now as well, they've got a little bit of a ridge in here that allows it to be a bit more ergonomic in regards to handling the handle as well. So let's get a few measurements on these guys and give you some sort of idea as to the overall measurements, etc.

So the overall length of these is 205mm from end to end. The fixing centres, let me get you the fixing centres there, measuring with a ruler, I'm comfortable there at 180mm fixing centres. And of course, there's one below the cylinder there and one above the cylinder. The actual width as well is 26mm, give or take a mill. Now it comes with a 7-mm spindle that goes into the follower within the lock, all right. So the actual diameter of the actual spindle bar here is 7mm, and it also comes as well, with two sets of fixings that are slightly longer than the others. And even if they're too long you can always cut them down, but the longest one there, for your information, from end to end is 75mm.

So there you go, guys, that's the range that's on our website. That one there would obviously be the outside handle because that's where the screw holes are for you to allow you to put the screws in, and of course the inside then you'll actually see the screws visible. So I hope I've been able to, through this video, give you a little bit more information in regards to what these handles are. Perhaps it gives you the chance to see it more in a three dimensional view to see whether or not you're thinking that you need to replace your handles, if they're broken, etc., there might be some little rich snippets there of information to help you make a more informed decision as to whether or not these are the handles you're looking for.

But listen. If you're not 100% sure, why don't you pick up the phone and give us a call? We'd love to hear from you. Pop us over an email, use live chat. Either way, we'd love to hear from you. From me, Darrel, and all of us here at the LocksOnline team, come and be a customer of our, we'd really appreciate that. Take care now. Bye-bye.
