Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a look at one of our product review videos. Today we're talking about sliding patio doors, the UPVC type, the one that sits at the back of your houses normally and we're talking about the handles that actually operate the sliding patio doors.
We've got these ones. The manufacturers here are Mila and we've got them in white, we've got them in a beautiful polished brass finish here, and we've also got a really nice finish in chrome as well. We will have a look at the actual white one here and this is the actual handle here as you can see. It's quite a nice design, it's quite minimalistic for want of a better word I'm kind of guessing, but what you will see also is this is the inside handle because you will see the screw holes are fitted there and are fitted there as well.
So, if you're sliding from the inside that way, great. But if you also want to slide from the other way, then what you would need to do, you can undo these screws here, sitting at the back here, turn this hand around and how you will be able to operate on fully opposing sides. That means there are multiple handed, they're not used at just one side. You get the little cam that sits here, this is the actual cam that operates the mechanism and of course then you will have the cylinder in here that allows you to then physically lock it off.
One thing Mila have done as well is they've decided to put two different-sized cams in, depending on the thickness of your particular type of patio door. So they've really sat down and thought about that they could have different sizes and so forth. So they come with two different-sized spindles there. The spindle's size I'm measuring is 70 mm. That's pretty standard in this particular industry. The side of the longest one, I'll make sure I get the longest one there, the size of the longest one for your information guys is 80 mm in overall length. So obviously that one's slightly shorter.
And of course, it comes as well with standard, with some different-sized screw fixings as well. Whilst I'm here, and if you're thinking to yourself that your patio door's handle is starting to look a little bit, has seen better days or it's broken in any way, let's get some measurements off this particular handle here to give you some sort of idea as to whether or not this going to actually fit on your door. Or perhaps you're looking to replace like for like, then you may find the name Mila stamped actually inside the handle there for your information.
So let's get some measurements for you. The PZ measurement, the distance from the centre of the cylinder to the centre of the actual spindle here, the follower, that is 90 mm PZ measurement, that's pretty standard on patio doors. So that should mean that yours, if yours is that, then this handle at least is going to fit in the right holes there. The fixings centres there for you guys, let me get the measurement of that for you, there you go that's a 110 mm. The overall length of this particular handle here is 230 mm. The width, I'll get the width of the handle as well if you need it, yeah, we're talking there of 30 mm there, okay?
So there you go guys, it's the Mila range of inline sliding patio door handles. It's available in this beautiful brass as well. It's quite heavy. So it's really thought about it's a bit of weight. It's a nice piece of product and obviously in this lovely chrome finish as well as you can see there.
