Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a look at one of our product review videos.
The product that we have here today is from the manufacturer Era. It's the 809; it's what they call in their industry the swing lock or a window lock that's designed for wooden windows. Now I have to admit that this particular type of window lock, in my view, is a good quality one in regards to how it secures. At this moment in time, this model is showing, if you can imagine this being a top hung window, but there's absolutely no reason why that can't also be a casement, as you can see there. That's a casement style window when it opens up on a pivot.
The idea is that when you would want to lock this down, you'd slide that into the position there. Now we put the key in there, like that, and you would screw that in really, really tight and the two would effectively be clamped together and therefore limiting the ability for this to actually be opened. Now in my view, I like the functionality of this lock. It feels secure. It feels strong. When you get this screwed into your window you can actually feel the confidence whereby you've put that in there tight, like that, and winding it up tight, you know full well that isn't going to go anywhere. I actually am quite impressed with this particular type of mechanism.
They are only available in white. Era have decided only to manufacture these in white, but it's definitely one that I would seriously consider if you're looking for securing your windows. But if you need a bit more information, if you need a little bit more advice in regards to measurements or whether or not it will actually fit your application, by all means, pop on the phone to us, use our live chat, or pop us over an email. Send us some of your photos of your windows and we can then sit down and see whether or not this particular type of one would suit you, or by all means, choose a different type of window lock for your particular application.
So this is the ERA, it's the 809. It's available on our website now. But if you need a bit more information, as I've mentioned, by all means, get in touch. We'd love to hear from you and, more importantly, we'd love to see you as a customer. Thank you. So from me, Darrel, and all of us here at the LocksOnline team, thanks for taking some time to tune in and we'll catch up with you real soon. Bye-bye now.
