Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a look at one of our product review videos.
Now today I want to show you the Pickersgill-Kaye, the Rotalok padlock that they do. It's an absolutely fabulous piece of kit. Here's the actual padlock. It's a hefty padlock, when you think of the way padlocks are. There's the actual name there, Kaye - Pickersgill-Kaye - the Rotalok padlock. One of the distinct advantages of this particular type of padlock is that the body actually rotates. So if you're trying to twist or if you're trying to hit anything against the actual padlock body then you've got this rotating action here to stop anybody. It reduces the effect of an impact against the actual padlock body itself.
Now this has been NATO certified. It has been used by the Ministry of Defence quite a lot. So that speaks for itself in regards to the security of this particular type of padlock. It also has a CEN grading back in 2010. It has a CEN grading of 4, 5, and 6, depending on whether you've got the open, the closed, or the extra closed shackle. The actual shackle itself is made out of a boron alloy, which means it is incredibly hard to manipulate or try and cut through. If I can get you some measurements here, it'll give you some sort of idea as to what size of shackle staple that you can actually use on this particular padlock. So the vertical height that we have is . . . I would be comfortable with about 26mm. The horizontal, which is in the centre there, is about 22mm. The actual thickness of the actual shackle itself is a good 12mm.
Now believe it or not, these padlocks don't come with a cylinder. You would normally buy the cylinder depending on the suite and the application. Now our LocksOnline EPS cylinders will work on this particular type of padlock. It's a hefty price for this particular type of padlock, we know, but it's an absolutely fabulous quality product. If you're looking for something to be secure, then, guys, you can't go far wrong with a product like this. Our LocksOnline EPS with a master key or keyed alike. So if you wanted a range of these to be all on the same key, or a master key to override then our EN 1303-graded cylinders would be just the match for this particular type of padlock.
If you're investing in this security, you also need to invest in a patent protected keyway as well. So there you go, they're available on our site. If you need a bit more information or you want a little bit more advice, by all means give us a call, use the live chat that we have on our website, it's totally free. You can either talk to me or any of the guys on the tech team. We'd love to hear from you but, more importantly, we'd love to see you as a customer. So from me, Darrel, and all of us here and obviously the Rotalok as well, by all means thank you for your time and we'll catch up with you real soon. Bye-bye now.
