The exit stopper is an alarm that has been designed to alert others if a door has been opened without authority. Ideal for emergency exit doors or doors that have restrictions for exit or access and to alert others in the vicinity if the door has been opened with authorisation.
The concept is quite straight forward but this unit packs a punch with options and its levels of audibility. When you first receive the product and take it out of the box its vivid red design certainly packs a visual punch which is what the product is designed to do.
The operation is quite simple, there is is a key on the front of the unit for switching it on and off. And inside there is a row of dip switches that allow the unit to have different functions of control. For example, there is a delay mode that allows the door to open for up to 15 seconds and assuming the door is closed after that time the alarm will not sound. In addition the alarm can be set to sound for a certain time also.
The unit has a dry relay that can be used to trigger other devices if required. You can also alter the dip switches for different sound levels and don't forget there is also a powerful strobe to give visual indication also.
The opening of the lid is via a special screw that allows you get in to change the battery, edit the dip switch settings, fix the unit to the wall etc. This specialist screw head is designed specifically to help prevent tampering.
The door sensor is a small unit that can be fitted to the frame, there is a few packers supplied and fixing screws for the door sensor. Two keys are supplied alone with a manufactures key fob.
The size of the unit 131 mm wide and 50 mm deep, while the magnetic counter-piece is 50 mm long, 10 mm high and 10 mm deep. Additionally, the packers supplied to allow you to offset the magnet away from the frame are approximately 2.5mm thick, which gives you the ability to raise the magnet a total of 10mm if using all four packers.
A 9v PP3 battery is supplied with the unit as standard, but please be aware if shipping overseas we must remove the battery for safety reasons.
