Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline. Thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a quick look at one of our product review videos. Now I'm putting these short, little review videos together to be able to give you, our customers, the opportunity to see the products we have to offer in hopefully a little more detail and hopefully give a little more advice and information that the descriptive text may not necessarily give.
Today I'm going to show you a Garador garage conversion kit that we have on our website. It's designed to convert the older fashioned ZA type locking garage doors that you may have, where you used a flat key to be able to open and lock and unlock your garage door. This particular conversion kit has been designed that if you wanted to replace that and put this on here, then maybe this is the application for you.
All the information in regards to the types and specifications are listed on our website, so I'm not going to repeat myself there. The whole idea of the video is for you to be able to see all the components in detail. I'll assemble it together here so therefore then to give you the opportunity to look at it in a little more detail and hopefully you'll then understand how it all gets put together.
So, effectively, first of all, you have the actual handle here. This is the part you would see from the outside. And as you can see there, this particular part then rotates and locks. It can lock in either that position or that position and it comes as standard with two keys.
On the back then you've got two bolt fixings here. Sorry, four bolt fixings there, and of course, then you've got the spindle then coming out the back there. So the idea is you get some fixing plates as well so the idea would be that this would actually be situated over there and therefore that makes for a bigger fixing plate.
I'll go through the measurements of those a little bit later on. Then you've got yourself some packers. These are the packers that would sit then on here like that. And then you have another plate then that would sit on here like that and then consequently you would use the bolts that come with it, and screw down in there, and that would then actually clamp onto your garage door assembly like that and therefore then that would be that particular part then fixed onto the garage door. So that's the idea of that.
It comes with all the screws and the spacers, etc. I mean there may be requirements for you to slightly modify that depending on your particular garage door, so bear in mind, there might be a little bit of tweaking that may be required. Then you've got the cam in that sits on the back here in either that position or that position. And then you've got yourself the bolt there with, if I just pop that down a sec, I'll show you this in a little more detail. You got the bolt then that's got the groove down the centre of it. Let me just take that off a second and see if I can show you in a little more detail.
Okay, so I don't know if you can zoom into there, but you can see then you've got the groove that goes in. That's where the wire would then go into the catch at the top and then you would use the nut and the bolt then to tighten it down onto there and that is what activates the cam. It would sit on there like that and therefore then alter that to be able to drop the catch down onto the top of the garage door. It also comes with a spring clip as you can see that when you have that situated on there you can pop that on there and of course that's not coming off.
So there you go, guys. That's the conversion kit. Very quickly, let's get some measurements for you. The actual fixing centres off the bolts, again those at 45 mm on the horizontal and on the vertical there, I'm getting about 78 mm on the vertical there. The actual size of this particular plate here is 63 mm by . . . let me get that one there, that's 113 mm there on its length. The actual plate then that sits on that, the overall size of the plate, is 95 mm on the horizontal. On the vertical, we've got then overall we got 144 mm on the vertical there. So, there you go. I'm just getting a measurement off the length of that as well. Right from the face plate, right to the very end there, we are looking at around about 108 mm to the very end there.
So there you go, guys. I don't think there's much more to say. Obviously, all the variations and so forth in regards to the specifications is listed on the website. Like I said, I'm not going to get into that. But at least now you can see what the conversion kit entails and how it's going to work on your particular application. But if you need a bit more information on this or any of the products we have, pop online, use the live chat we have, pop us over an email, or simply do it the old-fashioned way and pick up a phone and give us a call. Love to hear from you. I'd love to see you as a customer. So from me Darrel and the all of us on the team, thanks for taking the time to tune in. Catch with you real soon. Take care now, bye-bye.
