Hi guys. My name is Darrel and I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk and thanks for taking some time to tune in and have a look at one of our product review videos. The product that we have here with us at this moment in time is the Cisa. It's the 11912 electric lock from Cisa.

Now they do a whole range of different types of electric locks, this is the one that they say is designed for gates and I think it can also be fitted onto wooden doors as well or wooden gates as well if you wish. So I don't see there being a problem with this. Now, one thing you've got to be aware of with Cisa, the Italians seem to do things a little bit different and its well worth you checking out a handing chart that's on our website to make sure that you get the right handing for your particular application. The one that I have here at this moment in time, is if the gate was outward opening, in other words was opening outwards, and it would be closing in that direction there.

Now I'm going to say if that's left or right-handed because you might probably be seeing this in reverse because it's a video. So it's pointless me saying it's left and then its right and then so forth, it gets all confusing. So, there is a chart and have a look at the chart and it will give you on the chart what your handing is needed to be. So you need to check that.

Now, these particular locks they work on AC. They're not a DC lock, they're designed to work with AC and I have to be honest with you, they're pretty power hungry as well when it comes to AC. So when they fire off inside they do pump quite a punch. And what you'll find is if you have a door intercom system, a typical AC door intercom system, there may not be enough power to drive one of these electric locks and you may have to get yourself a separate power supply. So well worth you checking that out first to make sure the power supply on your intercom system that you're using has got enough punch to open this particular type of lock. I'm almost sure it's well over an amp the last time I looked at it.

So, what we've done here is it comes with two particular types of keeps. Because this one is an outward opening door, it comes with this particular type of keep which could sit on the frame and when the door closes like this it would then push into the lock and you would then cut this to suit and then you would drill out or fix out a hole in which this lock would actually go in there and recede and so forth in there. So that's what you need to do with this particular one. This particular one also comes with a fixing plate to strengthen up this that sits on the back end in there was well. That sits across there. But if that's not the type for you then you could actually got for this particular one that does the same, it's just a different set up altogether. So it depends on which one suits your applications, it comes with two.

Now this particular version, its key operated from the inside here. There's a little flap you can use to pull or push the gate with, and obviously its key operated as well from the outside. Now the size of this tube here, this is the outside locking cylinder, the length there is 55mm. Okay, so, a typical door in the UK is 44mm, so if you were to put that into a typical wooden door, you would have enough projection there to stick out for you to put your key in. So that's how that works.

Now under normal circumstances, that gets pushed in, it's quite strong so I'm trying to hold that in position there, and when that gets pushed in you could operate it there by that, or from the inside no problem at all. And of course when the electricity is applied this would actually spring back inside and would allow you then to open the door. So that's how that works.

So what we've done is we've gone a stage further and actually opened this, we've taken the screws out to allow you to see what's going on inside here. And there you go guys. There you can see, there are the connections there. They come through this little tube here like there and they would come up through there and there you would make your connections, and there's your solenoid bolt then that would fire off when power was applied to this particular type of lock.

So there you go guys, this is the Cisa 11921 range. Like I said, there's a whole different type of range. They do a backing plate for this as well if you need to have that, so you known no problem at all.

So if there's anything else that you need to know or there's any extra information that you think "Oh, I could do with this" or "I need to do that", you know pop us over an e-mail, use the phone, or our live chat is totally free in the day time. You can come chat with me or any of the guys here in the sales team, we're all knowledgeable on this particular range of products. Or alternatively, if we're not here in the day then usually email at night. But anyway, from me and all of us here at the sales team, can I take this opportunity of thanking you for having a look at this small little video and we'll catch up with you real soon. So from me, Darrel, and all of us here, take care. Thank you, bye-bye now.
