Built for metal field gates, with a frame thickness of 25mm or 50mm, these euro-profile gate locks not only offer you a robust, secure way of locking your gates with a solid stainless steel bolt, but also allow you to integrate your gate onto any keyed-alike suite of cylinders you may have, or even a masterkey system which are becoming more and more popular on farms due to the sheer volume of locks to sheds, barns and gates that are now being secured more than ever.
Most steel-body agricultural gates will have either a 25x50mm gate frame, or 50x50mm on many of the larger gates. But if yours is slightly different then this is usually not a problem - the version for 25mm locks can be fitted on 30mm frames, and likewise the 50mm version can be fitted on 55mm frames. It is possible to go the other way too, ie; the 25mm model on a 20mm gate, or the 50mm version on a 45mm gate, but you need to be aware that you'd need to have an additional 5mm 'air-gap' between the gate and the gate post, as the bolt in this case would stick out slightly even in the unlocked position.
The most typical 25mm framed gates are the Bateman Cattleyard, Bateman Century, Bateman Ashcombe, Bateman Half Mesh, as well as the IAE range including the IAE Asbourne Plus, IAE National Box End, IAE Big Bar Plus, IAE Five Rail Half Mesh and the IAE Eight Rail Premier. You may also find the Ritchie gates would fall into this category too, but be aware minor modification is normally required to fit to these gates.
The 50mm framed gates are normally the Bateman Stockyard Gates, the IAE Chiltern and the IAE Five Rail Cattleyard Gates. But of course, there may be others out there using the same 50x50 profile.
Similarly, you may have a slim wooden gate with a 50mm frame, if so then this would be a good solution for that gate. There's no limitations here; as long as it will fit your gate!
You will see that these locks are available with a euro cylinder provided, or as the case-only, without a euro cylinder. The euro cylinder provided is a basic 30x30 cylinder, and is supplied with three keys as standard. However, if you wish to use your own euro cylinder, or want to use a high security cylinder such as our High Security EPS cylinders, you would simply order the case-only model, and fit whatever cylinder you decide. As mentioned previously, it's becoming very common for agricultural settings to make use of masterkey systems or keyed-alike sets of cylinders to avoid the fuss of having ten different keys for ten different gates, so this is a very popular choice when you have more than one gate.
Supplied with the lock as standard, is a 22mm hole cutter for cutting
the necessary holes into your gate for the bolt travel, and also a
handle-extension bar commonly required to pass through vertical bars -
as well as all the necessary fixings.
We are also happy to be able to supply various optional accessories for these locks, including both mortice and surface-mounted keeps, allowing for a huge range of gate post types, and also the double-gate drop-bolts and housings, which allows these locks to be used on a huge range of double-gate solutions.
