If your bathroom has a sliding door, then this is the type of lock you'll need. It works similarly to a deadlock except that the deadbolt is split into four sections. The reason for this is so that when the lock is engaged, the two inner parts of the deadbolt splay out to create a claw-effect into the keep fitted to the frame, preventing the door from being slid back open without the claw-bolt first being retracted. This can be seen in the photos of the lock we have taken - both in the main photo and in the comparable forward-facing ones!
As these are bathroom style locks, they come with a 5mm follower instead of a keyhole. This is designed to be operated by a privacy turn & release set - this is the locking snib or thumbturn that you see on the inside of the door, and then typically a flat-slotted emergency override on the outside to allow entry in case of an emergency. These are not supplied with the lock as there are so many different styles available to suit different decor and design concepts.
What we love about these locks (and the whole Imperial range) is the build quality - that and the fact they are still designed, manufactured and built in the UK! These are a performance-rated lock with a 10 year guarantee. Plus they have also been fire-tested under BS EN 1634-1:2000 which can be essential for commercial installations.
Please be aware that the Imperial Locks range is manufactured to order for you specially - so please allow additional time for these to be dispatched!
These locks are fire-tested to BS EN 1634-1:2000
