Hi guys. My name's Darrel, I'm head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. Thanks for tuning in to our video and to have a look at the Legge 3721 or the 3722 Tubular Latch.
This is the guy here look. There's not really much you can talk about for tubular latches. The idea is for you to, if you've got an internal door in your house and you want to keep the door in a latched, locked position like your bedroom or say to your living room etc., this is the type of latch that you would be considering on using. It's designed to work with furniture. It doesn't accept bolt-through furniture. There's no fixings there for bolt-through furniture so you'd need to have furniture that screws at the top, etc., on a lever handle.
Now it comes in two different sizes. This is the 2.5 inch version. That's the distance, that's the overall case from the face, there to there, but it also comes in a 3 inch version, that's a little bit further. Now top tip, if you're thinking of using knobs on your doors as opposed to lever handles go for the three inch version so you don't end up banging your thumbs against the door frame. So that's quite important.
This particular lock comes in two different finishes. As you can see there it's got a nickel finish here, but it's also available in a black finish-, I'm sorry, a brass finish on our website. One of the important things that you may need to know as well is the backset, and that's from the leading edge here to the centre here, and that is 44 millimetres. That's quite an industry standard these days. The width of this is 22 millimetres so if you're going to be using a flat bit to drill a hole through you need at least 22 millimetres, guys, to be able to get this lock into place.
The fore-end width, that's the width here, is 25 millimetres, so drilling a 22 millimetre hole will give you 1.5 millimetres of clearance or thereabouts on either side. The fore-end height there then is 57 millimetres. Now it comes as standard with a little keep here that you can fit as well on the frame. Of course, it's not security, it's all about finesse, it's all about latching it, so that's the little keep that will go onto the frame, and of course then it comes with its fixings as well.
One of the advantages that I would consider over this particular latch over a different manufacturers perhaps, is that it's still using a brass latch here. And of course, if you wanted to hand it, simple, just turn it around and that's it. Then you've got it handed then the other side.
So this is the range of Legge 3721 and 3722 tubular latches. They're available on our website. And to be honest with you, we'd really love you to be a customer, so come and add to our cart. It would be really great.
In the meantime, If you need any more advice, if there's something I haven't covered here and you're just, 'Oh, I'm not quite sure.', then pop us over an e-mail, give us a tinkle on the phone, we've got Live Chat on our website, so you can have a quick chat with me or any of the guys here. We'd love to hear from you.
But from me, Darrel, many thanks for tuning into this video. Hope it's given you a bit more information on the product. In the meantime, from me, take care. Bye-bye.
