Hi, guys. My name is Darrel and I'm the head of the tech team here at LocksOnline.co.uk. Thanks for taking some time to tune into one of our short little product review videos in regards to a tubular latch that we have on our website.
It's the Jedo Tubular Latch, and it only comes in one particular size. It's the 95mm version. In other words, the case depth from the leading edge here to back bit is the standard 95. If I were to get this ruler out here, I'll give you a backset measurement. That's from the centre of the handle to the face there. And that there is 76mm as standard. Okay.
But one of the little and unique tricks with this particular type of latch is that it has this hole here, and this hole is indicative to a leg latch that was made many, many years ago. It used to have a number 47 turn on it.
I don't know whether or not you can zoom into that however very much. But if I were to push the latch in, you might see a plate that's moving back and forth. Probably going to asking a bit too much of the camera, but the idea was that they were used for privacy. So you pop this into your bathroom and you have a little turn, and that turn created a plate in the centre there that stopped the latch from operating so you couldn't work the handle.
Not very popular these days, but was popular many, many years ago, so if you're finding that your latch is breaking down and the case length is exactly the same, and you still want to utilise that turn that you might have, then maybe this is the type of tubular latch that you might be looking for. Now there are rebate kits available for this and it's also available in the brass finish as you can see there, but it's also available in the nickel finish as well. It comes as standard with its keep and that would obviously be the keep to go on the frame and of course it comes with a set of fixing screws as well.
So there you go, guys, a little bit of history in regards to that little number 47 turn. Like I said, you don't see them that much. I kind of guess that they're not made anymore neither, but if you got an old one that's starting to break down, maybe this one can act as a replacement.
So I hope very much that that gives you a little more insight into this particular product. But listen, if you need a little bit more information on any of the products that we do, by all means just pick up the phone, give us a call, use the live chat that we have on our website. You can talk to me or any of the guys. We're all pretty knowledgeable about all the range of stuff that we have on the site. Alternatively, we'd love to see you as a customer. That would be really good for us. So from me, Darrel, and all of us here at LocksOnline, take care and we'll catch up with you really soon. Bye-bye.
