This back-to-back combination keypad kit comes supplied with a deadlocking tubular latch in 60mm or 70mm backsets. Built with a knob outside & handle inside. Where you need to restrict operation of the door to authorised persons only - whether entering or exiting - this is the type of combination lock you need to be looking for, as it offers keypad operation on both sides, requiring correct code entry both for entry and exiting the property (or room for that matter!).
These are supplied with a deadlocking stainless steel tubular latch as standard, which is available to you in both a 60mm backset and then a 70mm backset also, depending on your existing holes from previous handles, or on a new installation, purely dependent on how far away from the frame you require the device to sit. If you're unsure what this means in reality, this is effectively the measurement from the edge of the door to the centre of the combination lock, where the spindle is going to pass through to operate the latch. Full dimensions of the combination locks themselves can be seen in the photos below.
Borg
have built these for medium to heavy duty use, so you certainly get a
lot of bang for your buck in terms of build quality and durability. The handle mechanisms are clutched as well to prevent any damage in the event of attempted
forced entry, or indeed innocent 'abuse' caused by incorrect code entry then trying to push down on the handles expecting it to open. The latches as mentioned are also deadlocking latches, so typical latch-slipping attacks you may be concerned about are taken care of by a simple pin embedded within the latch which locks the latch into the outward position when the door is closed into the frame.
Also available on these combination locks is the ever-popular free-passage mode. For those of you who require this, it is a simple to engage function which comes as standard on all of the Borg 5000 series combination code locks. Simply by entering your combination code and pressing 'F', the device will no longer require a code to operate, until the F button is pressed again to return to standard code-required entry mode. For those who don't require this functionality, well you can ignore this button all together - but it may come in handy in the future!
Available in four hard-wearing, durable PVD-coated finishes of Satin Chrome (standard), Polished Chrome, Polished Brass and Stainless Steel.
